Elevator not working. 15 min to get space in the elevator so you can go down or up. When brought up to the front desk so managers could look for improvements in the near future (not immediate action required as it seemed an unreasonable request from me) it seemed that I was talking to the wall. Facility has some features that could make hotel a 5 star but big failure on customer service.

AVOID, not worth it all

100% avoid, especially for the price ~778 brl per night roughly £110 it’s really not worth it and you can probably find better alternatives. Rooms and pathways were filthy with heavy scent of damp from the carpets. We arrived in our room to be greeted with sockets falling out the wall, white blinds were very dusty, screws were falling out the ceiling ducts. Light switch panels that had not been cleaned in a very long time, damp leaks seeping through the wall in the bathroom. I gave them benefit of doubt and told them about the state of the room. They downgraded us from room 1206 to room 1111 that had a smaller balcony. Surprisingly this room was just as filthy with the added bonus of holes in our towels. We gave up having to struggle with lifts to tell them again as we were only staying 1 night. Also as they are currently doing works on the lifts so there are only 2 in operation and they are called independently so when you want to leave at busy periods expect both lifts to stop at every floor and you may struggle to get in to a lift when it finally arrives. When checking out it took us 20mins to reach the reception Attached are photos

Although the hotels on the beach, there really is no beach access and the beach in the area is full of large boulders. The area around the hotel did not look very safe and there really were no restaurants walking distance. The hotel amenities were very minimal. The breakfast was decent.

We spent one night at Luzeiros which is a short Uber ride from the historic city center and from the Arraial de São Joao. The hotel is very modern, the staff friendly and the breakfast amazing.

The hotel breakfast and ataff are great. The area is safe compare to centro. Centro is dangerous. we went there and were attacked by 2 people while many people watching at 10:30 amvas if it is normal. police came later and did nothing. we heard from them that we were the third attack. d sao luis is very dangerous. go straight to barrienhas if you lan to visit the Lencyos national park. it is not worth to risk your life. there are many poor people in town and police has given up.
