Walks start from the doorstep with paths and bridleways leading to Dalby Forest, making this an excellent location from which to explore this beautiful unspoilt area. A 2 minute stroll takes you to the local country inn serving excellent food with further amenities in the market town of Pickering (4 miles) where you will find a good choice of shops, tea-rooms, restaurants, pubs, leisure centre, swimming pool and the famous North York Moors Steam Railway. Horse riding, fishing, golf and cycle hire are available locally. The Moor’s village of Goathland, famous for ’Heartbeat’, the ancient port of Whitby and the seaside resort of Scarborough together with the quaint fishing villages along the rugged Heritage Coast are only a short drive away.
