LOVE this location! Highly recommend. Super clean and staff is SUPER friendly. They go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Clean rooms with soft beds, drawers and hangers in closet, full sized mirror, microwave and fridge, desk area, reading chair, side table. Safe and well lit parking lot, onsite cafe, breakfast buffet, indoor and outdoor bars, heated outdoor & indoor pools, private beach access. Fireplace, outdoor games, mini onsite store. Mix of families, business, military guests. Holiday Inn next door is their sister hotel with access to their pool. Bring your inflatables they provide free air to fill them. Outdoor pool is heated, yet in March the wind was still strong so it was not warm but not icy like the beach! The indoor pool area was nice and warm. They provide free beach towels and you exchange them for fresh ones at anytime. Happy hour available in indoor bar and outdoor Tiki bar makes great drinks and non-alcoholic ones for kids too. Lazy river provides tubes but your floats are welcomed. Its so close to everything and yet Fort Walton has a small town feel. Hotel is located right after bridge and has lots of restaurants and entertainment nearby. Easy drive to Destin and to major grocery stores. Lots of outdoor lounging chairs and tables onsite. HIGHLY recommend. Their customer service left the best impression on me and my family. Great job to their team and management for this! Every team member was friendly and made great small talk.

Everything was good with the exception of us getting a slight smell of gas every now and then in our room. We called the front desk twice about it and they said that they'll check in to it, but nothing came about it and the next morning, we still were getting the slight smell of gas every now and then. Upon checking out, I asked them and was told that it's from their laundry room and that it happens from time to time. If it wasn't for that issue, everything would've been 5 stars.

Do your own negotiations with hotels

Originally booked (Hotels. Com) for Valentines weekend with weekend rates. On the day of travel realized we were bumped to Tuesday night (obviously over booked) and NOWAY to communicate to Hotels.com, except the near worthless "virtual chat" (they got your money). Did get an Email about paying 10 bucks for insurance the next day but couldn't call anyone to see what that all pertained(thinking it maybe a SCAM too). Ended up able to go Tuesday anyway, at the expensive weekend rates, and tried to make the best of the rear penetration given by hotels.com . My fiancé works the frauds dept. at a large financial institution, she said this practice where you can't communicate effectively with the third-party "money taker" is an extremely common call she gets. *Do your own negotiations with the hotel directly, while not perfect, at least you cut the third-party out of it, otherwise the hotel(that picks up the phone) will tell you you'll have to go through the booking company anyway if you went that route. All in all the hotel was on the edge of dated, fairly dirty, unvacuumed in hall areas the facilities seemed nice enough for off season and being a non-resort hotel, the check-in staff we had at check-in seemed to be of an average C- grade of animatron greeters, displaying dry and very little helpfulness skills in describing amenities. Our expensive room gulf view we had was nice, the lazy river and indoor pool look as it should, lots of road work out front expect traffic and delays.

Overpriced!! & Bad Experience!

We stayed here for our anniversary. The only good thing was the awesome view. Check in took forever. The gentleman checking me allowed a lady to cut in line in front of me, while I was on crutches. The lady complained of not having a room with a view, but after much discussion, she couldn’t prove she even booked a room with a view. The cabinet to refrigerator door was broken. The refrigerator itself didn’t work. The TV didn’t work. Both these issues were fixed but during a time we wanted to get ready to eat. We ate at the restaurant. DO NOT eat there. They had a VERY OVERPRICED Valentine’s meal that was not great. They did give us one free dessert & 2 small glasses of champagne for our anniversary. After we spent money on the bad meal. Then if they don’t charge enough for the room, they charge for breakfast. We paid the extra $5 a person for the breakfast when I booked. I’ve had many many better free breakfast at motels that cost a third of what this motel cost. DON’T pay the $16 for the breakfast they want to charge you. It wasn’t even worth the $5 we paid.

The view from our balcony was gorgeous! The issues I had with the stay…. The toilet was visibly dirty , the shower head was hanging out the wall, the hot water was like warm at best and the breakfast was really nothing more than a continental breakfast. Breakfast was 16 and adult and 9 a child. There was also a charge to park of 17 a day with taxes. Due to the hot water issue I was refunded for the parking . The lady who checked us out was super sweet but the rest of the front desk staff came off as rude, esp when I reported the hot water issue. A maintenance person came to my room and told me it was normal ( in very broken English). I was torn between this hotel and an Air BNB and in the future I will not stay here.

Great staff, broken hotel

When we got there, the room was warm so I turned on the ac. We went to the pool and played for a couple of hours. When we got back the room was still warm and I called the front desk. They said they would send someone but no one ever came. We slept in a hot room all night. There was also no warm water for our showers or baths. When I called the front desk they told me to run it for 10 minutes and they would send someone up. They did indeed send someone up, but he said that my room would continue to have barely warm water. When I asked the next morning, they had no knowledge of what was going on. The hotel staff were friendly and very nice and I understand things break. They comped us a night of our room which I appreciated and they gave us free meals and I would go back because the staff was very friendly however room 555 was not a lucky room.
