Disliked: Cleanliness
Cleanliness was not acceptable. On entry observed crumbs of food, including a cookie on the floor, also a bed pillow on a chair in the living room which per the owner had been used by a mom for nursing a baby. The upstairs bathroom had an fecal-like odor and a bath mat on the floor had caked mud on it.I called the rental agent. He said he was shocked, because the last person who stayed there was the owner. He said the owner had him cancel the scheduled cleaning because the “house was fine.” Since I was now uncertain about the overall cleanliness of the home I requested the agent have the cleaners come and change the sheets on the beds, clean the 3 bathrooms and wash the mat in the bathroom.The owner requested to talk to me and the agent gave me her number. I called and the owner told me what I described was not possible because she used the “best house cleaners in Pebble Beach”. They were “top notch”. She insisted the house was was clean, and if I was dissatisfied, I could “move on”. We had family driving hundreds of miles, arriving at 9 pm on a Friday night, “move on” was not an option. I pointed out the agent told me she had him cancel the cleaning. She then agreed to have the cleaners return. The agent told me the cleaners couldn’t come until 2:30pm the next day. The cleaners said it would be faster for them if we were gone. We left the house until late afternoon. The cleaners said they had been scheduled to clean before we arrived, but it was cancelled.
