On the East side of the island visit the fishing villages - with some houses built on stilts - and view the traditional fishing lifestyle that is still a way of life in our modern world, and sample and enjoy great food at the local stalls. Look out for exotic flora and fauna at Pangkor Forest Reserve; butterflies, monkeys swinging from branches and vibrant coloured birds perched in trees. There is an excellent trail to hike up to the summit of Pangkor Hill or to Tortoise Hill which overlooks Tortoise Bay.
