This is a beautiful old hotels. Be aware that your room may be quite far from the desk through winding halls and atria. Many steps. The shower layout in my room was difficult to maneuver getting good water temp and then into a tiny space w a glass door. Can barely get in and out without water all over the floor. A simple shower curtain would solve that. But it’s a lovely and interesting place!

very unique and pretty property BUT our room was right on the way and we could barely sleep due to the noises of not just other guests but also sounds from toilets and other rooms. There was zero soundproofing. Also the ground floor room on the path (room 10) meant we could not open the windows, so the experience was not goodl

It is an excellent location and beautiful place. Glimpse into Spanish old houses. Great service, good breakfast. The under ground maze is spectacular. But takes some skill to get to and from your room.

Great location. Charming hotel - set in an old palace, of sorts. The rooms could do with an update. TV didn’t work in one of them, and a light was falling off the wall.. also our rooms were right next to an alleyway so no natural light unless you opened them fully, but then no privacy if you did. That made the rooms a bit gloomy. Roof terrace was nice though. Breakfast was good but be prepared for some looks from staff if you turn up 5 mins before it finishes

Interesting hotel but not impressed with room

Hotel itself was lovely and staff helpful but the bathroom smelled of sewage our entire stay, bed was uncomfortable and hot drinks available; green tea only (no coffee which we aren't bothered about but they failed to restock on tea). Location was great but probably wouldn't return to this hotel.

The hotel includes over 30 buildings connected by tunnels. Our room was a hike through the tunnels. Not the service of a smaller hotel. Our room was large, with a high ceiling, and kind of dark. Bed was not top notch. Great location, however, and nice spa/hammam.

What a unique experience. Almost every room had access to a private garden or beautiful fountain. The piano bar was a touch of class and the access to numerous parks, sites, shops and restaurants was perfectt!

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location

This is a beautiful, authentic hotel in a fantastic location, and I have no complaints, but I would recommend avoiding room #11 IF you prefer absolute privacy and quietness (you may have people sitting right outside of your window, happily chatting away, and a pipe that channels some of the upstairs wastewater runs right through your room). :) We traveled in a midsize SUV and parking was a challenge - with a larger car, you should avoid that area of the city to begin with, but if you are willing to walk a little bit, there are plenty of public parking garages, with at least one really large one on the other side of the river (Plaza de Cuba).

Tunnels of history.

The most unique hotel we’ve ever stayed at. The coolest underground tunnels connecting 27 houses into one hotel. Located in the old town. Very convenient but difficult to get to by car.
