3 major points to be aware of: the name is deceiving (this is not at Starved Rock state park but 20 min away), if the power goes out- so does the water and Ameren Electric is not very timely, if you book thru Hotels.com then this postcard cabin group will not reimburse you if problems arise (but Hotels.com was fabulous). We got no cabin # or entry code that day but easily reached a offsite rep on the phone. She was fabulous all thru our fiasco. 10 min of bringing our belongings in then power went off. Super cold outside wirh windchill of 15°, so headed into town to wait it out, Rep kept us aware of progress. 4 hours later and no sign of repairs, discussed with the rep the fact of having to use the woods as a bathroom during the night was not acceptable. We wanted to cancel and were told that all the reservations would be reviewed and refunds determined. Returned to grab our bags and got a hotel in town for the night. Supposedly the power came back on in another few hours. Next morning another rep was in charge, who rudely told me there was nothing for them to fix, and the "3rd party" would be the one to deal with. Why were we led on to believe the company authorities would be calling to discuss it? Nothing was mentioned about Hotels.com taking care of it. Positives: great view from bedroom, very small interior but adequate for 2 adults, nice size bathroom, only sink is in kitchen, no microwave, modern decor, was nice temperature inside when we 1st got there, coffee/snacks

The cabin was what was needed, a small get away. I will say I expected the views to be better. Also, just make sure to do your research, because I thought that the hot tub would be included in the cabin I stayed in. But was sadly mistaken. Overall the stay was good and very relaxing though.

Based on the photos and ads, I was so excited for my stay. When I arrived, there were bugs all over the sheets, which I chalked up to being surrounded by trees. But then the picnic table outside was covered with aunts (set a newspaper down and within 10 minutes it was just overrun). Later in the evening, as the sun was setting, the picnic table had 10+ cockroaches that then spread to the area surrounding the stairs to enter the cabin. Although the text number was very responsive, they did not provide any accommodation to the fact that I did not feel comfortable spending the night.

The cabin was nice really clean the only thing I didn’t like is that it wasn’t secluded two other cabins were really close to each other they could see where our outside area was and we could see theirs. I would book again only if I could choose which cabin I wanted
