The hotel was well-located and the staff was helpful and generally excellent. We did find a rubber glove in the duvet and some stains on the bedsheet, and after talking with the front desk they moved us to another room for the night, which we appreciated. This hotel has a lot of interior rooms overlooking the atrium where breakfast is served, and those windows don't open so temperature control is difficult. The thing I disliked most is that the rooms are tiny, even by European hotel standards.

Great location, walking distance to most of major visiting sites and shopping areas. The room is very clean. The front desk and dining room staffs are very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are super, lots of choices. They also include light dinner, simple but very healthy. Great experience, highly recommend!

Great location, walking distance to all the major site, such as palace, museums, and central station. The room is very clean. Breakfast is superb, lots of choices. It even includes light dinner. It’s simple but very healthy. Staffs in the front desk and dinning room are all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Hats off to the staff with a great knowledge of Oslo and also great sense of humor. Nothing seemed to ever be too much trouble. The location of the hotel is great. Walkable to most places of interest or a train was close by. The room was small but there is an excellent use of space. The bed was v comfy. Sheets and duvet nice. Water pressure in the tiny shower was good. Body gel provided but no shampoo, conditioner or lotion. Towels a bit on the light side.the room was cleaned daily and it was always done by 5he time I got back even if that was early afternoon. The breakfast is excellent with choices for everyone. I was especially pleased to have lactose free milk and yoghurt. Nothing in Norway is inexpensive and this hotel is no exception. Nonetheless I would stay again.

The Thon Hotel Cecil was in a great location to tour Oslo. My room was nicely appointed … only the mini fridge cooler did not seem to work. But they have ice machines at each end of the second floor. I appreciated that they cut out the wire around my window during construction so I could see out. The breakfast buffet each morning was a delight with lots of options … including vegan. The evening meal of soup and salad was a delightful surprise to be included … I highly recommend the delicious vegetable soup!&

The hotel is very good, as central to Oslo’s highlights as it gets. They provided a light meal in the evenings which we took advantage of, and breakfast in the mornings. Both were very good! The rooms are very clean and modern. The hotel is undergoing light renovations now but otherwise it was fine for our stay in Oslo.

Very clean, great breakfast buffet and super location ….. however the bar next door is very loud with music till 1 am … so hopefully you are a deep Sleeper or like myself use earplugs. Folks at reception super nice
