Construction started 7am every morning. Music from restaurant next door kept you awake u til 3am. No AC in the room. Location was awesome tho. And so was breakfast.

Great location with great breakfast

Very nice hotel on the main road, easy walk to the train station and many restaurants and sites. During a two week trip in Scandinavia, they had the best breakfast spread of all.

The location is the best you can ask for. Walk distance to many attractions and the train station. Got upgraded to the main building. Room was clean and comfortable but as usual in EU pretty small, we we’re there for one night so it was perfect. Breakfast was great!! Would choose it again.

We had an absolutely lovely time here. The location is very convenient and close to public transportation. It is right across a nice park/green space in the center area of Oslo. The most amazing part of this Hotel was the absolutely phenomenal breakfast! Best breakfast I’ve ever had.. they had anything you could ever want and everything was extremely fresh and delicious.

The staff was fantastic. The facilities on the Karl Johan Hotel (33) side were great but the old part (35) were shabby. The bathroom had some mold and the jazz club downstairs kept me up at night. The room was very small, but worked. Breakfast was fantastic and bed+bedding was quite good. Overall it was a positive experience and considering the comparatively cheap price point for Norway and the most central location possible in the whole city, it was still a win!

Chaos with room assignments

My stay was good. Room was adequate for budget and breakfast was great. However I had a terrible experience during check in. I was given a key to a room that was already occupied and basically walked into someone's belongings (person wasn't there). I turned around w/o touching a thing but I could have easily taken an entire purse and sunglasses which were just lying there. Or worse walk into someone. After that there was a terrible confusion about which room was available for me. I spent the remainer of my stay afraid someone would walk in on me.

Excellent location, good breakfasts and friendly staff. The small rooms on the secondary hotel (not the main one) are very very small, they smell like old wet carpet, humid and the music playing downstairs is not as bad, depending how close you are to the bars.
