A clean, spacious hotel in the heat of charming Orvieto, Hotel La Posta is a short walk from cafes, restaurants and the famed Duomo. We have stayed there 4 times and never been disappointed.

Great old hotel in a perfect location. Lots of character and a very good value. I would note only that there was no air conditioning, and as is typical in Italy, no screens on the windows, so it was difficult to stay cool on very hot nights given that there are also lots of mosquitos. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, so overall a great experience.

Basic but good. The hotel represents the cost. No AC which we missed when booking but no big deal. If it was hotter, which might have been an issue.

Our stay was fine. My one learning is that parking is a bit far away, so if you have luggage -- stop right in front, take it out, then go to the designated parking.

We loved the location! Very near the Duomo in Orvieto, yet in a very quiet side street. Francesca was very professional and friendly. She made us feel welcome. Our room was simple, very clean and the bathroom had a BATHTUB, which I had requested. Most hotels and bed and breakfast in Italy do not have bathtubs. Breakfadt was perfect for us, continental, with good coffee.

The service is friendly, always willing to help. The hotel is very, very clean considering it is a period property. Location is right in the centre of Orvieto. There is also a supermarket opposite the hotel so it's super handy. There is no TV. For a single traveller, it's disconcerting considering the fact everything closes after 8 pm and to top it all, there is limited WiFi. So I can't use my tablet for browsing. I am slightly annoyed that it is a shared bathroom but I should have read the description before I book. There is a sink in the room if you like that kind of thing, I don't. I was there for three nights. On the second night, they run out of hot water shower. I didn't complain because the hotel people I do not want them to worry.

Great hotel for a quick weekend break

The hotel is brilliantly located, with a shop at the doorstep, and within walking distance of many of the attractions. Rooms are cosy and well kept, with some pretty funky light fixtures. The staff were very friendly, especially the man on duty at night time, he couldn't have been nicer. There was no air con, but with the fans in the room (even during the heatwave where temperatures were almost hitting 40) it never felt uncomfortable. For the price it was perfect.
