Delightful villa with private pool in landscaped gardens.

Villa Belfiore sits in the tranquil countryside of rural Pugla surrounded by olive groves and vineyards yet is just 5 minutes from the thriving, medieval town of Oria with its beautiful historic centre, castle, many restaurants and all the amenities you'll need.
The Villa is ideally placed for exploring the wonderful towns and cities of Puglia and also conveniently located between the Adriatic coast and the Ionian coast, each 30 minutes away.
Comfortably sleeping 6/7 with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the Villa has a spacious open plan sitting/dining room with a well-equipped kitchen. There is a further toilet and shower area by the pool all of which is set in mature landscaped gardens with lawns and flowerbeds. The house is located off a quiet road and has a gated driveway with parking.
The shaded verandas directly accessible from the house provide areas to dine alfresco or sit and relax. Both the front and rear verandas have sofas and dining facilities, giving you the option of choosing the coolest or warmest area depending on the time of day. The rear veranda leads to a lower terrace with bbq and seating and from there the tiled walkway edged in lavander guides you under the wisteria-covered pergola to the pool area. Here there are six sunloungers, a shaded gazebo with table and chairs, and an umbrella for shade while cooling off on the steps of the pool. The 10 x 5 m pool, fully tiled in mosaic, provides a wonderful space to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Completely private it is the perfect spot to swim or enjoy the sun. There is also a large area of lawn next to the pool which is great for children to play.
The garden around the house and pool is fenced and walled. Our land extends for a further hectare behind the house and garden where we have an olive grove of 190 trees, a vegetable garden and an area of fruit trees including pears, figs, plums, apples, apricots, lemons, oranges and clementines. Guests are very welcome to wander in this area and help themselves to whatever is in season, includings fresh vegetables from the vegetable plot.
The villa has everything you need to enjoy a memorable holiday with family and/or friends and is a great choice for those looking for the peace and quiet of an Italian countryside location but close to the amenities of a traditional town, with the sights and coasts of Puglia within easy reach.

Great pool, beautifull garden. Limited electricity capacity. This doesn't cause any problems if you have 3 of the 4 air conditioners running simultaneously. Michael was a friendly host, lives next door but was invisible and modestly present if you need him.

We had a fantastic fortnight at this beautiful villa. All 7 of us were very comfortable. It is very attractively set up and decorated. Kitchen is well set up and BBQ easy to use. We particularly enjoyed the landscaped garden with beautiful planting and shady nooks and crannies to sit. The pool is larger than usual and was very popular with our adult children. Mike was very friendly and helpful even booking a restaurant for us for a special occasion. It was a fantastic place to explore the many interesting towns of Puglia and to just sit and relax. Nearby Oria was very busy in its medieval festival but once we discovered the free car park in the centre it was a charming and non touristy place to visit for dinner. All in all one of the best villas we have stayed in. A thoroughly relaxing and interesting time had by all. Thank you Mike!

a unique, charming and comfortable place

The house, with its terraces, beautifully designed and maintained garden, and swimming pool, is truly wonderful. Everything has been carefully thought out, both aesthetically and functionally, with great attention to detail. Two couples can live here comfortably. However, the use of the third bedroom, which lacks its own bathroom and is situated in an enfilade between the kitchen (connected to the living room) and the terrace, may be inconvenient. The kitchen is very well equipped. The condition of the bathroom fittings is slightly worse—it's simply worn out and will likely need replacing soon. The electrical installation for the outdoor lighting requires more urgent attention. Unfortunately, especially after rain, attempting to turn on the lights by the pool or in front of the house often results in blown fuses, power outages, and plunging the house into darkness. Thankfully, Michael showed us how to handle this situation, and resetting the fuses is simple. However, as the issue occurred several times during our stay, it was both stressful and inconvenient. Despite these minor drawbacks, the villa more than compensates with its extraordinary beauty and the rare kindness and empathy of the host. An offer worth recommending

Outrageous Oria in Puglia

The pictures reflect exactly what this property has to offer. It was beautifully designed and landscaped. We walked among beautifully landscaped gardens as we went to the pool. The pool was immaculate and cleaned daily. The kitchen was stocked well and we actually were able to eat some fruit that was on some of the trees in the garden. The owners were so available and when an issue popped up the response was immediate. This is a rural area but just what we needed to restore our souls and get us away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. We were honored that we were the first Americans to rent this property! Thanks Mike and Annette for sharing your beautiful Oria property with us!

Perfect place to relax in beautiful surroundings

The villa was very clean, lovely and spacious, comfortable and well equipped. But for us it was all about the garden, which is beautifully landscaped and packed full of plants. Lots of different places to sit in shade or sun and a pool larger than we usually see in private villas. The owner, Mike, was very communicative despite being on a trip away. The villa is conveniently situated to drive to different places in Puglia - our favourite by far was Ostuni, for the buzzing evening vibe, pretty streets and restaurants. The food and wine of the region was definitely a highlight of our stay! We didn’t find the surrounding countryside particularly attractive as it is very flat and is miles after mile of olive groves, but a drive nearer the coast brings more variety and hills. Previous reviewers mentioned the mosquitoes- my husband suffered a bit but didn’t wear mosquito repellent… if you wear strong repellent, get all the citronella candles etc going and cover up if you’re particularly tasty to mozzies, it’s not a big issue. We really enjoyed our stay and felt very relaxed and at home and were sorry to leave.

Pretty Puglian retreat

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay in this beautiful and peaceful villa. It is very spacious and well equipped and the gardens and pool are beautiful. A great base to explore this lovely part of the world with many towns and gorgeous beaches within easy drive.

Beautiful villa in heart of Puglia

We were welcomed by Mariangela when we arrived. The villa was just as described and perfectly clean. The garden and pool are immaculate . The pool is a good size ,. we used it every day. . The pool area is lovely, sunny, with loungers and shade too, very well designed.. We went into Oria to the shops , supermarkets, restaurants and bars. The town is beautiful , typical of Puglia . We ate out there and visited several times, . It is not far , easy to park and people were friendly snd helpful. From the villa we visited places in all directions as it is quite centrally located. We have never seen so many olive trees or vineyards. The nearest beaches are stunning with light fine sand and crystal clear water. We could also park easily nearby. We had a lovely fun holiday visiting sites but also enjoying the comfort of the villa. We experienced no problems , we knew we could contact Mike if needed. and Mariangela was nearby. Everything in the villa worked and it was extremely well equipped. An excellent place to stay.

Fantastico ! Villa is really lovely - well equipped , clean , tasteful furnishing etc etc THE pool area and garden are also lovely - lots of shady areas to sit and big pool. Mike the owner is attentive but not obtrusive and helps with anything from restuarant suggestions to taxi bookings. Oria is nice town and only 10 mins away has restaurants / supermarket/ bars . we normally do a villa hols every year but this our first since covid and really reminds us of what we missed . if you want a great villa holiday book this one !

This is possibly the best property we have ever rented. The helpful but inconspicuous owners are just next door but they’re information on arrival and written info, meant we didn’t need to disturb them. It is a peaceful haven in this crazy world. Lovely walks around the villa, beautiful clean pool to swim in. Peaceful tranquility. We loved the allotment behind the villa and used it each day. The villa is well equipped with everything we needed. This included bug stuff. Yes the mozzies are bad. Highly recommend this villa if you are looking for a quiet, clean, rural stay.

Fantastic villa, great base for exploring southern Puglia

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 infants) had a wonderful stay at the villa in late September 2019. The villa is laid out perfectly, with large bedrooms and a great kitchen (with an abundance of equipment!) and living area. The welcome hamper was really useful and esnured we didn't need to rush out on day 1 for supplies. We loved the outside space, there's a lovely terrace at the back of the house from which you can admire the Puglian sunsets, as well as shaded area by the pool to escape from the heat of the day. The pool is a good size, clean and inviting with ample sun loungers for all. The local town, Oria, is quite basic, it does has some medieval sites and a nice small central square ( i recommend the coffee and gelato at Gelateria Kenya!), we found that many of the restaurants and local shops were predominantly closed during our stay. The coast is only 30 minutes away and Mike have us some great recommendations on beaches to visit. Ostuni is also a short drive and is a lovely morning or afternoon out. For those wondering about mosquitoes, it's the middle of the Italian countryside, there are of course biting insects, but if you use repellent, citronella candles and the plug-in deterrents you won't have too much trouble!

Wonderful Country Villa

Wonderful well equipped villa set in countryside 10 mins by car from Oria surrounded by olive trees. Outdoor space is fabulous as is the pool - as good as it gets. Owner was helpful and friendly prior to arrival with various queries and was always on hand if needed. Owner also kindly provided a few welcome items - much appreciated and had loads of brochures on local area - maybe, a visitors book would be good as well for the future. all in all we loved the week we had so thank you very much.

Wonderful villa with beautiful garden set in pretty countryside near Oria

We really landed on our feet booking this villa! The house is spacious with 3 good-sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there was also another cooker outside which was really appreciated as it was hot during our stay and it meant we could cook on the cooler side veranda. There is a lovely BBQ area so we barbequed most days and ate outside on the pretty covered rear veranda. Even the pool area has a gazebo with table and chairs (and loo!) to retreat to when it's too hot. The lavender-lined pathway to the pool and indeed the whole garden is really beautiful. Mike and Annette could not have been more helpful. Our flight arrived late so they kindly waited up for us to arrive which we really appreciated. Keen cyclists themselves, they took us out on several rides which was brilliant as they were able to show us roads and tracks we would never have found ourselves. Their recommendations for places to visit, where to shop etc were spot on. The villa is well placed for exploring this area - we visited the beach at Campo Marino as well as the towns of Lecce, Alberobello and Ostuni. Great mix of relaxation and exploring.

Wonderful villa

Just returned from a lovely stay in fantastic unspoilt part of Italy. The villa was everything we expected. Very well equipped . Home from home. Mike and Annette where very welcoming and really helpful at suggesting places to eat and visit. The beches are ideallic and Oria is enchanting. Only negative thing was the mosquitoes which prevented us from being able to make the most of the pool.

Lovely villa and excellent hosts

We stayed at this lovely villa with friends. The villa is beautiful and very well equipped (even small details like basics in the food cupboard provided and a very good starter pack). The pool area and outside patio areas are lovely. Hosts Mike and Annette were fantastic and looked after us really well ensuring everyone had a bike to get around. They had advised a car would be beneficial and they were right as there are no taxi's. However, the bikes were very useful. The local restaurants in Oria were excellent. The local wine magnificent. Safe to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this villa as a base (but do get a car).

Beautiful getaway in peaceful Italian countryside

We had a wonderful 2 week stay here. Mike and Annette were incredibly helpful and sorted everything we needed, while giving great recommendations. The villa was very well equipped and spotlesssly clean with a great kitchen and lovely bedrooms. What truly made our trip, however, was the villa’s stunning outside - from picking fresh fruit and veg in the garden to lounging by the stunning, large pool and eating dinner on the terrace watching the sun go down with a glass of local wine - it was a truly relaxing holiday! We definitely hope to return here and to the beautiful town of Oria and explore the area more - the villa was so lovely and the weather so hot, we didn’t venture far!

After a warm and friendly welcome from Mike and Annette, we had a most enjoyable and relaxing stay. The house has everything we needed, including the different outside seating areas and a great pool. Beautiful relaxing property.

A beautiful property set in a rural part of Italy. The house is lovely especially the outside area with its veranda, bar-b-q area and pool. We spent two weeks here with our 16 and 18 year old. The weather was perfect and we had a very lazy time using the immaculately clean pool and lazing on the sunbeds. Mike and Annette have catered for all your needs including mats and umbrella for the beach and towels for the poolside. The house was very clean and well furnished and the welcoming pack of bread, wine and jam was gratefully received when arriving at 9 in the evening. Mike and Annette were on hand to answer any queries or issues and nothing seemed a bother to them. The area around the house is very flat and very quiet. This is definitely a holiday location for those who want to get away from it all and sample the 'real' Italy away from tourists.

Great place for real chill out!

We had a great time in this place ! We have been looking for true south Italian atmosphere and we found it in this area. Annette and Mike are fantastic people and they were very supportive during our stay. They gave us great advise what to see, and where to go to enjoy our stay the most. In the house there is a lot of travel guides and maps of Puglia which was very helpful for planning trips. We loved the house, it's really well equipped and convinient to stay for family of four like us. And the pool is awesome! We will come back in the future for sure :)

Poolside glamour among the olive groves

My family ( parents, grandparents, student kids) had a wonderful time at Villa Belfiore. Communication with Mike before our arrival was super-efficient and helpful; given the times of our flights, we particularly appreciated early check -in/out. Any small problem we had during the visit (eg electricity outages) were dealt with within minutes. The villa is exceptionally spacious and brilliantly kitted out. Air-con was extremely efficient ( though unncecessary at night -time) and the beds were large and immaculate. Bedding and towels are new and high-quality and the kitchen will delight keen cooks, with its array of locally inspired cookery books and comprehensively equipped kitchen ( great espresso machine, and nice to have 'extras' such as weighing scales and cool-bags with ice-blocks.) Four adult bikes are provided ( complete with bike-locks) - ideal for nipping into nearby Oria or bowling about among the olive groves. The beautifully kept gardens and huge, glamorous swimming pool were a real highlight, with loads of thoughtfully provided shady areas. Outside chairs and sofas were super-comfy and we enjoyed eating all our meals al fresco. Villa Belfiore is an excellent centre for touring. The beautiful baroque city of Lecce is 40 minutes' drive and we also loved Martina Franca, Alberobello, Ortranto and Ostuni. Oria ( five minutes away by car) is a very appealing spot for an aperitivo or pizza in the evening. We were delighted by our stay, and warmly recommend Mike and Annettte as hosts. I hope Villa Belfiore brings them all the success they deserve.
