This hotel offers great value for the price. It’s conveniently located near a bus and tram stop, making it easy to get around. The room is on the smaller side with limited storage space, but it does include a handy mini-fridge for snacks and drinks. The bathroom is also quite compact, but overall, it’s a comfortable and affordable stay.

I wish they have microwave in the room, one of the staff member was a bit rude when I grab a hot chocolate from the lunge I was willing to pay but she made me feel and another guess like we were too cheap to pay.

We stayed twice on our visit to Utrecht. Once w/o breakfast and once with. The breakfast was very good. The eggs were fresh cooked and there was a good variety of food, nice breakfast sandwich selection, too. The room was nice, mostly clean with a few icky spots on the walls. Bathroom doors were heavy and couldn't be left open. Easy walk to get to tram. Nice place to stay!

Slightly off-center from main attractions

We were allowed to check-in prior to 15h00 (much appreciated). Friendly staff. 17 min by bike (1h by foot) from Central Station. A little bit expensive for what it has to offer.

I would never stay at this hotel again. It is absolutely a horrible and unsafe place to be and it’s overpriced for what it is. The staff are ok for the most part but that’s not enough to make me want to stay there. The mini fridge is just a light in a box. It doesn’t actually keep anything cold. The fan and the light in the bathroom didn’t work, so there was no ventilation. The hair dryer was a safety hazard and caught on fire several times the other guests were noisy, and the housekeeping didn’t come by and do Any kind of turndown service. It was a hassle to try to ask for new towels or toilet. And I felt very unsafe there because a lot of people were doing druq$ the hallway smelled like w€€d eww. And they tried to charge me for breakfast, even though I never once ate it there. If you value a comfort, safety and efficiency and decent prices don’t stay here.

I stayed at Bastion for one night only, and I was happy with my stay - the very friendly receptionist provided me with a room with one double bed instead of the room with two singles that I had booked because it had been cheaper. Initially, the property was confusing to reach because it's right next to a motorway entrance and also surrounded by a large fence, this was a uncomfortable situation to be in after dark. If you come by public transport, make sure to use the P+R Westraven stop, Google will tell you something else! The room was clean, unfortunately it triggered my dust allergies when I turned off the airconditioning, but the bed was comfortable and with a set of earplugs, the car noise from the street was no longer an issue.

Convenient location

Bathroom sink very small and difficult to use due to shelf above the sink. Room not serviced / ie cups not washed, we’re dirty on arrival . Coffee/ hot water machine not clean and when used had bits in from previous use. Staff friendly at reception. No bath mat / towel had to use a hand towel when in shower as floor for wet and slippery. Bed very soft and pillows way too big and fat, unable to sleep on this . Did ask if could find a flatter/ thinner pillow but didn’t materialise. Otherwise very convenient for buses into town.
