We chose this home because it looked like a charming beach cottage. While it did have a cozy cottage feel, our experience did not match the listing or the price.The exterior was in much poorer condition than advertised. Outside, the grill was rusted, the decks and porch had peeling paint and splintering wood, and the front stair railing was loose. Inside, the staircase was very steep, and one step had a nail protruding from it, creating a safety hazard.The beach location was excellent, parking was convenient, the beds were clean, and the décor was nice. The home was also easy to keep at a comfortable temperature.Unfortunately, we found roaches throughout the kitchen. When we notified the hosts, they asked us to take photos of the roaches instead of offering an immediate solution. The refrigerator was dirty, there was dirty paper stuffed into the sofa cushions, the water pressure was poor throughout the home, and several windows were cracked.This property has potential because of its location, but it needs better maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep. Given the price, we expected a home that was better maintained and more accurately represented.
