This is an amazing gem of a hotel. This is a perfect stop for anyone traveling from Dallas/Ft Worth to Big Bend. On site restaurant, excellent bar, and amazing rooms. The staff are all friendly and want to make your stay memorable.

First of all I have stayed at this hotel many times for the last 9 years. It’s my go to hotel in Big Spring. I will be staying there again I am sure. I reserved two rooms. One for me and one for my mother. My room was great and I have no complaints (1204). My mother’s room (1104) had an oil smell outside her room when she first checked in. There was a large bleached out stain as soon as you enter the room as well. There was a less noticeable stain by the bed. This is not a Motel 6 so I expect more much than to see a huge stain as soon as I enter the room. I share this so they understand it’s definitely not a quickly forgotten blemish on the room quality. The prices here are fair and it’s in a great location.

Terrible for business travel. Staff will mess up your meeting schedule and threaten to throw your stuff out the room. For business travelers just stick to your fav - Marriott, IHG, or Hilton. Hotel staff very unprofessional and this hotel seems measured toward travels on holiday

You might want to invest in bath towels. These are turning into rags. Maybe update mattresses and beding. Clean carpets in rooms. Wonderful staff! Beautiful hotel. Great steak dinner. Seasonal munu would be nice for those of us that stay throughout the year(s).

The room was very roomy and extra comfortable. The bedding was very clean and the HVAC easily maintained correct temperatures. The interior lobby is beautiful and well appointed with interesting historical data. The pool area is very nice but we were there during weather too cool to use. The problem here is the street noises of traffic and one night people partying loudly on the opposite corner for over an hour til 2:30 am. The restaurant was good at breakfast and hotel staff were excellent. The downside was the holiday dinner buffet was less than desirable. The meat was good but all sides were not warm, some too mushy and both desserts rather bland. Our reservation began at their last hour for service and the staff were breaking down tables and chairs next to us in the middle of our meal; 20-30 minutes before end of service which greatly distracted from the intended atmosphere. The area around the hotel was not as meticulously maintained nor attractive. Settles is like a diamond in the rough--not much around except rundown shops and parking lots. The areas around I-20 appeared to be more active and inviting.
