Big resort with lots of activities and dining options. A little on the noisy side if you’re looking for serene relaxation. Villas are nicely spread out and spacious. New wing with private pool is cute. Sunsets are out of this world. Nice restaurants on site and great hospitality. The ocean… my oh my! That’s the best part.

They overcharge you for the taxi from the hotel. Do not book taxi from them. They also said they offer payment in credit card but when it comes to payment they only have cash.

The food is fantastic. The best buffet we have ever experienced in a hotel - and we travel a lot! Also enjoyed the speciality restaurants where food and service - again excellent. The staff couldn’t be more friendly. A shout out to Nora (in Gingers) Rhoda on reception and all the pool staff - particularly the activity team - so good. Evening entertainment mainly good - particularly enjoyed the saxophonist and the high energy gymnastics. The lighting needs to be sorted as when performers used the floor around the stage it was difficult to see them. We also found our room quite dark - better lighting needed. Overall, we loved our stay and definitely would recommend

Had a great stay, lot’s of sunbathing chairs, many pools, although the resort was at full capacity, it did not feel crowded. Staff are extremely polite and welcoming. Delicious food with lot’s of variety. It’s a resort to stay in the resort as there is not much around it to walk too. As soon as you go outside the premises, locals are quite insistants.

Really nice clean and comfortable room. All staff were attentive and helpful and even just staff walking around the resort would offer a friendly “jambo”. The all inclusive is great and the buffet is large with many options. Dinner at Ia was really good. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Riu Hotel never disappoints me, the staffs are just oh so awesome….. Always wanted to go above and beyond to make sure that you’re satisfied. Riu has been and will always remain my favorite all inclusive Hotel/Resort.

The beds & pillows were terrible. 2 single beds stuck to each other which shake as you move. No grip whatsoever on the floor.. pillows were hard as rock too. Hotel service & meals were fantastic. Beach was amazing as well.

Great all-inclusive in Zanzibar

Pros: Entertainment was top notch. The African dances were so good the 3 nights we were there. I don't usually like the resort buffets but the buffet here was very good. The food was tasty well seasoned and abundant. Fatma and Asma took such good care of us since we went there several times throughout our stay. Cons: While the buffet is amazing trying to get reservations at the restaurants is very very difficult. We only went to Krystals. The instructions are to make your reservations via the RIU app but we were never able to make a reservation thru the app. The app is very faulty. At the Palace front desk they told us to go to the Jambo front desk for those restaurants. When I did this the agent desk basically told me keep trying with the app and the resort is full. I have never been to a resort where I wasn't able to make reservations for the restaurants. Front desk staff is a bit slow. At check in we were told late check out is $20/person/hour and to just arrange it the day before. Well it was a process to get to say the last since my space here is limited. Will expand on Trip Advisor. Overall I would say it's a great resort, but it's lacking if you are comparing it with the Caribbean and Mexico. I would not recommend you go out of your way to go to Zanzibar from the US but if you are in the area, the beach is beautiful and an all inclusive is always just what the doctor ordered.

Great hotel. Food was amazing! Not so much party life at night in the hotel. Some karaoke but no dancing. Crowd is older more for relaxing. But the service was top notch!

The hotel grounds were absolutely beautiful. The beach is gorgeous and the security keeps the vendors away from the sun loungers. The bar tenders were fabulous and so friendly. The promenade wait staff was a tad inattentive and it took multiple asks to finally get water or beverages with meals. Food was good. Overall had a wonderful 4 days at the Riu.

We had an amazing time at RIU Palace! I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff were amazing and they went over and beyond for my birthday. There were lots of dining options. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

It's over 1 hr. drive from the airport but once you get to the hotel you would feel the peace and serenity around you enough to forget your journey. The newly built accommodation is really nice but they need to either get a king mattress of put a frame around the twin XL mattress to prevent them from separating if you roll towards the middle.
