It was a good experience overall. Staff were ready and available to accommodate, the food at the tree top lounge was excellent and the drinks at the sandbar were really good. It was so nice to be so close to the ocean.

The staff was extremely polite. The building is well maintained, but many areas are old. The pool is over crowded, because of the lazy river there is no place to really swim. The small pools are filled with kids. There is very limited space to sit. Our room was nice, but in need of updates.

The staff was very friendly, the upkeep is great on all parts of the property, the pool and lazy river are nice, and there is great access to the beach. Well worth the price! This is our second stay here and will definately go back!

The rooms were very nice but the bathrooms need a lot of help. There is no counter space in the bathrooms. You have a 30" vanity with a sink the size if a cereal bowl. You have enough space and could change out the vanity top with a longer one so you can place things on there.

Such a great vacation! The room was clean and perfect for us. Only criticisms, the door to the room was extremely heavy and hard for my mother to open. The microwave vent doesn't work so we had to open the balcony when cooking.

Great location. Walking distance to Main Street of North Myrtle Beach. Pool area crazy busy and loud. They don't monitor amount of people or kids in the jacuzzi tubs. Awful smell of garbage directly by the entrance to the elevators in the registration / unloading area. Hallways smelled of Marijuana at times,even though there's not supposed to be any smoking on the property. Limited menu at restaurants. Rooms have dated furniture. Minimal water pressure in the bathroom sink. However on the good side....rooms did come fully stocked with all the kitchen items a family would need for a lengthy stay. They offered plenty of garage / covered parking for free across the street. They have a quiet sandy area adults can sun bathe and lay out in lounge chairs that has a small bar. Easy access to the beach. They do offer several amenities. Overall opinion is Avista is a lower budget resort that's good for families with young kids. I'd recommend adult couples with no kids stay elsewhere.
