Don't shoot through before you have checked out the Antique Jewelry Museum and Izu Teddy Bear Museum in Higashiizu. Some of our recommended Higashiizu hotels and accommodations are the ATAGAWAKAN and Kissho CAREN. Alternatively, you could stay in Ito, 65 kilometres to the north of Niijima, where you can choose from the Kazeno Kaori and Kawana Hotel. Izu Highland Stained Glass Museum and the Renchakuji Temple are popular sites to check out when you're in Ito.
Atami is located 85 kilometres away from Niijima. While you are here, why not visit the Nishimura Kyotaro Museum, the Kabocha Museum and the Fukusenji Temple. You can also spend a little time at the Izusan Jinja Shrine and Atami Castle. Atami offers accommodation options to suit everyone, such as the Furuya Ryokan and Resorpia Atami.
Before you leave Japan, ensure you experience a local game. Find Shimizu Nihondaira Athletic Park to the northwest of Niijima. Rest your head near the action at the Nippondaira Hotel or the Hotel Vista Shimizu.
If you plan on flying into Niijima, Mt. Fuji - Shizuoka Airport is your most logical airport. It is situated 110 kilometres from downtown. The Hotel Route-Inn Shimada Ekimae is close to the airport.
