There is plenty to do in the surrounding area for young and old alike. De Heersteeg is an ideal starting point for exploring the enchanting Vechtdal. Thanks to its many different nature reserves, it is a paradise for nature lovers and adventurers. Shifting sands, heathland, fens, and lakes alternate with endless panoramic views over green meadows and the soothing gurgle of the river De Vecht. Cycling and walking along rivers, castles, country houses, nature reserves, and cozy villages. Besides Nieuwleusen, Dalfsen, Hattem, Staphorst, Giethoorn, Meppel, and Ommen are definitely worth a visit. Or visit the beautiful Hanseatic cities of Zwolle, Kampen, and Deventer. Rent some (electric) bikes from us in advance and discover the surroundings
