The River Bend Farm House


Welcome to the River Bend house, a recently renovated century old farmhouse. A beautiful setting located on a private 21 acre farm property. Walk in the front door and experience the warm cozy feeling this home offers. The first floor has a fully equipped kitchen, featuring shiplap walls and open shelves and has everything you would need to cook a nice meal. The kitchen is equipped with all new appliances, including gas stove, dishwasher and microwave. Also on the 1st floor, there are two full bathrooms, a mud room, dining room, and living room with a 55” smart tv . The second floor has three bedrooms and can accommodate 5 guests. Drink your morning coffee on the covered porch and end your day with a fire on the patio. Mornings and sunsets are special here, so don’t forget to enjoy them. The property is also the home of The Barn at River Bend, a wedding/event venue. Newport is located between Harrisburg and State College and is a great little getaway. Pack a lunch and drive five minutes to visit Little Buffalo State park. They offer swimming, fishing, kayaking, and hiking. The area has several wineries , or take a 25 min drive to Lewistown and visit Shy Bear Brewery, a great place for dinner. The town of Newport has several coffee shops and places to eat. Like the decor of the house? Visit Carpetbaggers, many items you see in the house were purchased there. Our welcome book has suggestions and addresses.

Peaceful!!
The house is beautifully updated and has everything you could possibly need. I loved walking the property and my grandkiddos came over and ran around in the yard. Everything was accurate, well thought out and Wendy clearly cares about your comfort while staying with nice extra touches everywhere. Highly recommend!

We wanted quaint, cozy and private. Hands down all the above. Every thing we needed was supplied and wished we had booked a longer stay. Wendy is amazing! Thoughtful, kind and a talented designer. The place was so charming. Bed super comfortable too!

Nice open layout downstairs. Modern kitchen with everything. Downstairs bathrooms. Good wifi and all the tv channels. Good wood stove is you want extra heat.
