Lake Sunapee Cozy Cottage - Blodgett Landing

Charming comfortable Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, Sleeps 6
Rental is a three bedroom, 1 and 1/2 bathroom At
Lake Sunapee, with views of the lake and dock and lake frontage (shared with 1 cottage)there is one cottage in-between ours and direct lake access. Our cottage is not Lake Front.
The bedrooms have one queen bed, one double bed and two single beds, which should sleep 6 comfortably. It has a large kitchen with breakfast nook, grill, separate dining room and living area. Wifi, cable TV and landline are available. Cottage also has large wrap around porch, sunroom and woodstove.
Your perfect summer getaway for the whole family.
Our dock and lake frontage is perfect for relaxation and swimming! WE DO NOT HAVE A BOAT DOCK OR KAYAKS for liability and insurance reasons. You are welcome to bring your own kayak or rent a boat. There is a boat ramp straight ahead at the entrance in Blodgets Landing that you could launch for the day and store on trailer at night just can't tie up to our dock.
The surrounding area includes hiking trails, boat rentals and the town of New London for shopping. NEW full size washer/dryer. Please inquire for late May,June, July, August, September, early October Only. This cottage is not for rental during the winter months.

The property needs work. The parking is on the grass under a pine tree that leave sap on your car. The stairs are steep but this isn’t a place for the elderly. The Knobs were missing on the toaster and torch light. No heat in the master bedroom which was really small with one side of the queen bed pushed up against the wall. A wasp nest developed in the top of the house and were in our bedroom meanwhile the owner did not do anything to fix the problem. Pine sap was on the chairs on the dock and my wife’s pants got ruined. No bedroom on the first floor. 3 small bedrooms upstairs and the steps were slippery and hard to climb if you have a knee or hip problems you aren’t getting upstairs. Nothing in the description stating no bedroom on the first floor. Contacting the owners for help was like getting no help at all. We ran out of propane for the grill and we tried contacting the owner but got no response from them so we had to do without. The sink on the first floor bathroom gets clogged and takes a while to drain. We contacted the owner but they never responded. The shower stall was so small you can’t even bend over to wash your legs. If you are a large The dock rail was bowed and Jams the gate making it hard to got on the dock. We received maybe a 30 percent response rate when contacting the owners for help. No light over the stove for cooking on the stove and I had to hold a flashlight to see. When we got there we had to make our own bed. Overall the worst VRBO rental ever!!!

We absolutely loved staying at Grey Gables. My grandson asked if we could live there forever. Tamara & Claire were very responsive in communication. The private dock was the best sunset views I've seen in a long time. We will definitely return

Lovely cottage

Clean, welcoming and had everything we needed. Kitchen is well equipped, appliances are new and the cottage was very comfortable. My grand daughter and I are both exhibitors at the League of NH Craftmens Fair, so it made our week to be able to stay 10 minutes from Mount Sunapee.

Family fun at the lake!

We were back for our annual Sunapee visit and had a wonderful stay at Grey Gables in Blodgett landing. Everything was super clean and they have all the towels and amenities needed for a great family vacation.

Paradise in NH

We all made ourselves right at home. Very easy and comfortable. Everything we needed was there. As a place to get-a-way, Grey Gables was perfect. A lake house as it should be. We roamed the area, walked along the lake, sat on the dock day and night, hiked a few mountains, found local events, dining out and ice cream were near by, and just relaxed. The boat outfitter we thought we had located prior to arriving wasn’t there so acquiring canoes and kayaks was not happening. Will come better prepared next year :-)

Grey Gables Late August

We spent a wonderful week at Grey Gables in late August with 2 teenagers, 2 young adults, and our dog. There was plenty of room for the six of us and in spite of poor weather, we had a lovely time. The house was clean, well equipped, and charming especially the wraparound front porch where we spent many relaxing afternoons, reading. When the sun finally came out, the lake was glorious and refreshing. Everyone enjoyed swimming off the private dock. Our host, Rebecca, was very helpful and responsive to our needs. We had several home-cooked meals, but also enjoyed the areas, restaurants, including Bubba’s in Newbury and the Smokehouse in Sunapee Harbor. The neighborhood was quiet, friendly, a great place for the kids to walk the dog or ride bikes. I would highly recommend it and look forward to going back again soon. .

Fantastic lake cottage

We truly enjoyed the chance to escape from a busy city week and relax at Lake Sunapee on their dock, play games in the cottage, and going for a moderate hike on Mt. Kearsarge!

An absolute treasure!

It’s like going back in time authentic Victorian cottage! I am an artist and absolutely fell in love with every room. This cottage is an experience, not just a vacation. You get an opportunity to go back in time and live with the elegance of what it was like in the 1800s to experience lake Sunapee But with all the amenities of today!

Quite location

The property was nice. House was old style. You can tell improvements had been done. Shower was a little small. It would have been nice to know you could not see the view of the dock from the house. We still enjoyed our stay. Neighbors were never an issue. Everyone was quite and kept to themselves. No issues with location. Stores very close. The only thing bad about our stay was the weather. Thank you to the host for posting and allowing my family to stay.

Wonderful stay at Grey Gables

The cottage was just as described and pictured. The owners provided everything as promised in the listing and we had everything we needed for a great stay. We loved the little dock and lake access with a spectacular sunset view. The beds were comfortable and each bedroom had a fan to keep the rooms cool at night. We will definitely keep the cottage in mind if we visit the area again and we’ll tell our friends about the positive experience.

Great Family Stay

My and my sister’s families stayed at this house and had a wonderful time. The house is lovely and exactly as advertised. We had a lot of fun swimming in the beautiful lake and fishing. Check in and check out were easy and the hosts communicated well. And the neighborhood felt very safe and clean with plenty of privacy while not feeling in any way isolated. All-in-all a great stay, and I would recommend this house for anyone looking for a relaxing lake vacation.

A house with a view

Our rental was tidy and had plenty of extras. The dock is shared and small but there is also a town dock within walking distance that has a small patch of sand and a couple of benches.. u can bring your chair and chill & swim from the dock. There is no grass on the property so if you bring your dog and they arent used to doing their business on gravel as mine arent (spoiled brats) There is no AC, so bring some window fans~ that helped us in the humid week we had. I loved the antique furniture ~ matching edith & archie bunker rockers. You cansee the lake from the dining room table and season room. The neighborhood is nice and great for walking. Everyone was nice and my early am walks along the lake were peaceful & beautiful.

Lakefront Stay

We had a wonderful family vacation at Grey Gables. Everything was clean and the appliances looked to be new. The location was right on the lake and we loved walking around and going down to the dock. We were there during a heatwave and there is no AC, so that was very hot. There were lots of fans provided at the house, which made a big difference. If you’re looking for a relaxing, beautiful vacation I would highly recommend Grey Gables!
