Peaceful Beachside Retreat

Please note:
Multilevel access. Not wheelchair friendly. Apartment is on the second floor and accessed via staircase. No guests under 29 years of age.

Enjoy the comfort, privacy and convenience that our well appointed flat has to offer.
Our beautiful 775 sq. ft., spacious apartment is full of light and has the ambiance of a home nestled in the trees. Soundproofing adds to the relaxing environment.

Your 2nd floor balcony/deck is another charming place to relax in the sun, sip coffee or gaze at the stars. Descend down the rear stairs to your private patio. There you will find a soothing Hot Tub spa with a hot & cold water outdoor shower. A fully screened, 12' x 16' outdoor living room with comfortable upholstered furniture is your own private retreat. Add the finishing touch. Light the gas flame fire table! Enjoy the glow and cast of the chill.

There are two queen size beds in separate sleeping areas making it comfortable for 1 or 2 adult couples maximum. Our living area sectional sofa also has a full size bed pull out. The bathroom has double sinks with granite counter top and toilet/ bathtub-shower separated by a door.

Kitchenette/bar features sink, Keurig coffee maker & coffee, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, cookware, dishes, flatware, a magnetic burner with magnetic cookware and cooking basics.

Beach chairs, umbrella, bikes provided for your use.
Walk to grocery, shoppes, restaurants, beach and nightlife in this great little town!

Take a stroll to one of our several art galleries, festivals or antique car shows. There is always something to see or do if you enjoy the fresh air, like walking, running, fishing, stand up paddle boarding, boating, surfing, biking, kayaking, wild life watching or painting, any other outdoor activity.

There are many options nearby to play indoor or outdoor Pickleball, Tennis or Racquetball at no charge.

If the weather is not the best we have a history museum, charming shoppes, bowling, a luxury movie theater, and very often live music at our local restaurants or bars both day and evening.

Minimum age of occupants 29 years old - verification with I.D. mandatory if requested. Not suitable for babies or younger children, teenagers or any guests under 29 years old.

A Hostile and Alarming Experience – Stay Away from Mike and Candy’s PlaceWhat was supposed to be a joyful wedding weekend and vacation with my children turned into an incredibly stressful and disturbing experience at Mike and Candy’s rental in Florida.Upon arrival, I informed Mike—clearly and directly—that it would be me and my three children staying. He responded politely at the time, even asking their ages and engaging in friendly conversation. Everything seemed fine—until it wasn’t.The next evening, after running a quick errand, I returned to find Mike in the laundry area. Without warning, he confronted me aggressively, sticking his finger in my face and yelling, “I told you—NO KIDS!” I was shocked. I calmly reminded him that I had disclosed this information the day before upon arrival. He ignored that entirely and insisted, with visible anger, that “the post said no kids.”I immediately offered to leave if he would refund my payment, to which he coldly replied he would charge me for two nights and a cleaning fee. The situation felt unhinged. Something about Mike's behavior was off. While we remained in the home temporarily, I began to notice unsettling things—items moved when we returned from outings, an eerie feeling of being watched. It was invasive and downright creepy.Thankfully, I was in a financial position to secure a hotel for myself and my children—so we had a safe place to stay while awaiting a refund. Palm tree oasis

We've been to New Smyrna several times but this place was awesome. Quick walk to the beach to see the sun rise. We enjoyed our private deck during the day and a hot tub at night. My husband grilled some meals but lots of local restaurants, to enjoy close by.

Location, location, location!

Mike and Candi were gracious and very attentive to all our needs. We walked and biked to beach, parks, restaurants and pickleball courts and shopping areas. Hot tub and balcony were great. Kitchenette is very small, but we grilled a lot. Main bedroom is separated by a curtain, and second bedroom has sliding glass door.

Great Location, clean & comfortable with lots of attention to detail

The property was as described. Candy, our host, was on hand to provide an orientation tour at check in and was readily available throughout our stay. While there is no true kitchen, there is a gas grill, a hot plate, an electric skillet, a toaster oven, & a microwave for meal prep.There is a full-size refrigerator. There is EVERYTHIING you could need to cook - utensils, measuring cups pots, pans, and baking dishes. The only real challenge is the tiny sink for cleanup. Candy has provided anything and everything you need for a comfortable stay: towels, robes, extra blankets, etc. And if you forgot to pack it, never fear, it is stocked and ready for your use: bug spray, suntan lotion, aloe, tweezers, laundry detergent... I can't think of anything missing. During our stay, sadly the hot tub began leaking and we only got to use it once. Candy & Michael kept us informed about their attempts to get repairs done. We came back from an outing one day to find a bag of gourmet treats and a bottle of wine waiting on the doorstep for us. They offered us use of their kayaks and Candy worked hard to convince us to try pickle ball - she was willing to be our instructor! We were not convinced :). They are great hosts! The beach is a quick walk across the street and across a parking lot. Wonderful restaurants such as Garlic and The Treehouse are within walking / biking distance. Easy 30-minute drive to Blue Springs state park. Also, a great Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings on Canal Street.

The owners are the most wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and welcome. The property was super clean, something is paramount to us, and very cozy. The quiet privacy was perfect! Candy and Michael are wonderful people and made it very easy for us to be there. Thank you for giving us our "first time" fantastic experience!!! We were completely satisfied from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Candy and Mike have a beautiful rental home and the location is amazing being close to the beach, downtown shopping, restaurants, and a grocery store. The outdoor living space is so peaceful and secluded. You definitely do not feel like you are in someone’s back yard at all. The outdoor shower was hands down one of the most amazing amenities. The rental itself is spacious and stocked full of just about anything you would need. Can’t wait to stay here again! Thank you, Candy and Mike, for being such amazing hosts!

So Many Amenities!

This place is so rich with amenities we weren't able to sample them all during our week's stay! Loved soaking in the hot tub, riding bikes on the beach, and relaxing in the outdoor screened living room in the evenings surrounded by a jungle of bamboo. Had we had a little more time, a paddle in the kayaks would have been great, followed by an afternoon in the hammock and a dinner grilled on the patio with a fire in the fire pit. Walking distance to everything. Candy and Mike are wonderfully accomodating and kind.

Great hosts, great unit, great location!

Candy and Mike are awesome hosts. They lent us their bikes and even kayaks, and shared lots of great local information. The unit is very quiet and comfortable, with access to lovely outdoor spaces. It can be as private as you would like. The basic kitchen suites our needs as we prepared virtually all our meals during our weeklong stay. Publix is very nearby, as is a local fish market. The beach is a stone’s throw away — so convenient! Again, the hosts offered up beach chairs and other gear for a great time at the beach. Can’t say enough about what a great stay this was, from the initial communication with the hosts upon booking, to the checking out process. Highly recommend!

Property is better than advertised. Beautiful landscaping, with privacy and safety. Close to everything with bicycles included for free! Even riding on the beach. Gracious hosts. Sunny and shady spots to relax surrounded by beautiful bamboo. Possibly the best rental we have ever enjoyed.

We enjoyed the location a block from ocean and loved all the added features as hot tub, bikes to ride, patio. Also the extras as eggs, coffee and English Muffins were greatly appreciated’. The Best Location and Accommodations!

This property is PERFECT for 2 people who enjoy being pampered with special little amenities / touches from the hosts, enjoy walking and biking everywhere (thanks to bikes provided by hosts), a quick 3 min walk to beach to watch sunrises every morning and so much more! Candy and Michael are so welcoming and personable and make sure your stay is everything you hope it would be. We cannot wait to stay here again! This is definitely our #1 place on VRBO!
