Great Stay, Cute Town, Comfortable House
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Hydrangea House. The place was more than enough space for two and, had we stayed longer, we would've loved to take advantage of the full amenities the property offered including the fire pit and full kitchen. Check in and check out was a breeze and the primary bedroom was extremely comfortable - arguably the best mattress and pillows I've had at a stay like this. The best part of was being very walkable to town and the beach, as advertised. Now, a couple of things to be aware of: (1) as of May 2025, the door to the primary bathroom shower was broken and unable to stay shut leaving it unusable. This wasn't an issue for 2 of us because we could use the other bathroom, but was inconvenient and would certainly be an issue for bigger parties. (2) This house is directly across the street from an open air brewery that is open 8 am - 12 midnight every day of the week and they play music from 7 am - close that creeps into the house. It's not terrible, much of a low hum of early 2000s alt rock, but it's enough to disrupt the quiet. We told the owner it could be drowned out if they provided a floor fan, but they said that isn't an amenity provided at the property - hope they change their mind for future stays. (3) Last one, the hot water reservoir goes fast, again, not a problem for 2, but it could be for a larger party. If those things were fixed, we'd definitely return, and considering they're all very fixable, 4/5.
