Klein Wangelin was first mentioned in a document in 1446. In 1862, the village was established at its current location, along with the house, which was one of four former farm cottages. In 1999, the house underwent a loving, comprehensive renovation; the original structure and architectural style were preserved as much as possible. The modern holiday rental is located on the upper floor with a separate entrance, air conditioning in the living and sleeping areas, and a large walk-in shower in the bathroom. The living area opens onto the balcony, which features seating, a tabletop grill, and where smoking is permitted. Free parking is available on the property, along with a charging station for electric cars (for a fee); bicycles can also be stored securely. A swimming lake is located 500 metres away, and biking and hiking trails are available on-site.
