Great stay at this amazing place. The manager, Clinton and his wife run a great place, the food was really good, and the staff were friendly and courteous. The views are stunning, and the hiking trails are well maintained, with many hiking options, the afternoon by the pool is a great way to chill after a morning exploring the bush trails, plenty of wildlife around from the mice and hares that share the grounds with you, to the Springbok and the majestic Gemsboks. Will 100% come back when in the northern cape.
It was absolutely an awesome stay. Beautiful place. Top notch! Will definitely come back and stay there again. The dinner was awesome! Staff so friendly!
We stayed at Naries for two nights, in the mountain suites.
It was heavenly: quiet and beautiful. The staff in the main manor house, where we took meals, were very friendly and offered very good service.
Our stay at Naries Namakwa Retreat was excellent, it was a wonderful experience to stay in one of the Mountain suites. The staff are polite, friendly and very helpful. The meals are excellent. This will be I stay that I will always remember.
Compliments to the chef. Excellent food. Two people in our party gluten intolerant and she went out of her way to accommodate them. Even baked special goodies for them.
The waiters were all also very friendly. All in a very enjoyable stay.
Good place to explore the flowers from.
Comfortable rooms, good food and a stunning setting were all great but the staff made the place. All were helpful, friendly and informative. The ‘lapa’ was well equipped for sunset drinks with a display on the history and natural history of the area and Janine and Ian were friendly hosts ready to answer all questions. Well-marked trails and amazing views across the Namakwa made walking a pleasure.
This place was certainly a retreat! We stayed in one of the self-catering units. They were HUGE! The staff were over the top helpful, as we had loads of questions for them and needed assistance for our future travels. The food was fabulous, some of the best we had in our 2+ weeks on SA. The are loads of hiking trails on the property...make time to see some of them!
In an area like the Northern Cape, decent accommodation is almost non existent. Naries is superb, but you either need to go with a very good friend or be prepared to do nothing other than walk or lie by the pool - it is 27 Km from Springbok - and there is NOTHING in Springbok
Retreat is the operative word, excellent, relaxing, comfortable stay. Wonderful, creative room with a great view, excellent meals and service. Our room, one of the 'mountain huts' , a huge thatched dome incorporating native granite boulders into the walls with a separate bath. The attached bath included both a decadent sunken tub (and suds my wife enjoyed) and a shower with a view. A great place to just relax and enjoy the view, the gardens and the food. We drove to the sundowner overlook and a view all the way to the coast miles away. Also a great place to hike. Wish we had had more time. Definitely worth a muti-day stay.
We experienced a flat tire overnight and the desk was extremely helpful in contacting the rental car agency and arranging service. The gift shop items are very nice with excellent pricing. Just a great place!
We liked the place of this hotel. First we thought that it is so far away from the town of Springbok but then we noticed that they do all that guests could feel comfortable.
They offer half-pension what is very good. And every day we noticed the very good cooking. They offer walks with a ranger, too, and Eon could explain plants and birds and animals very well. And they also offer a sunset -Aperitiv on a hill. A real wonderful place to relax. You only should know that you have to drive a bit longer to come to National Parks or other Att raktions.
