A Beautiful Japanese couple run the place, if your hitting the snow everyday and only need a shower and a bed it’s fine!
This is a good place to stay if your main focus is skiing/snowboarding. This is more of a rustic cabin stay. Our room had two beds and an attached bathroom. There is a restaurant with some dinner service at night. You are a 5 minute walk to the ski slope and a 1 minute walk from a ski rental shop and a western style pub restaurant. It did take us about 15-20 minutes to walk down the hill to the Lawsons, so you might need to stock up on snacks or waters before heading up to the cabin. Overall we were pleased with our stay.

Filthy no service, cold rooms, sanitary facilities from 200 years ago
No one was available at checkin time, one of my two room reservations was lost, available room was filthy and unheated. Facility was run down. We could not stay in such conditions.
We booked an en-suite Japanese room. The futons didn’t get rolled away in the day. We arrived and there were no towels in the room. They were provided when we asked. The room had a toilet in one room, a “bath tub” in another- when I say bath it was like a load of pallets nailed together! At least there was plenty of hot water. The wash basin was in another room and it hadn’t been cleaned in I don’t know how long! I asked for it to be cleaned and it was but was then only 80% clean and the area around the basin didn’t get cleaned. The only heating was a gas heater - which we didn’t dare leave running overnight in case of carbon monoxide poisoning, and a fan heater. The first night we left no heating on and it was 4 degrees in the morning. The next night we left the fan heater running and it was 8 degrees.
There was tea and coffee on offer in the mornings but only instant. There was also toast but nothing to put in it.
On the plus side the location was good for skiing - just a three minute walk to the nearest lift and a minute to the ski bus stop to get to other resorts. It is a Kilometer to the bus station which was too far to carry our luggage. We arrived on a busy day so there were no taxis and so had to wait a couple of hours to get the V2 bus that stopped at a nearby hotel as you can’t take lots of luggage on the local minibuses. On the way back we were able to get an Uber.
We ate at the restaurant one evening and the food was good and great value for money.
Just past Tokyu hotel where many shuttles come through the place was very convenient and fun to stay in. The owner was very helpful and fun. Food was really good and I mostly used the place as a jumping off point for roaming around Hakuba and skiing so it was perfect for me.
