This is a spotless hostel! We were so impressed by how hard everyone in the staff worked to make sure the entire place is perfectly clean! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were clean with great water pressure. It’s so conveniently located. Don’t hesitate to stay here.

Hala house is beautiful , we booked a private room with two twin beds. Staff was kind and had a packet waiting for us for late check-in. Plenty of parking. Facility is nice and clean Room was clean and nice. The views from outside our window was stunning I’m giving them a 4/5 instead of a 5 because of a few sticks in the mud : 1) the shared bathroom across from our room. I actually liked the design they have the toilet and shower separate , however the shower room door and lock sticks and I didn’t know that ,and I was stuck in there for a good five minutes trying to get out… the next day when my partner went to shower I forgot to tell him ( I’m horrible I know ) and the same thing happened. Also the shower drain was clogged so you had to slow your shower down to a trickle while you stood in an inch and a half of water No complimentary coffee/tea: I know this is a silly thing to get stuck up on, but coffee is my elixir of life. We got there late and didn’t have time to pick any up, there were not any packets in our room so I went downstairs to look for some, they had a machine in the lobby but you had to pay over three dolllars a cup and it was broken and wouldn’t work. I think some packets of complimentary tea or coffee is a small gesture to guest that goes a long way for them Overall pretty good stay. Mt cook is stunning and there is so much to see there

Nice spot, a bit noisy beds.

The place is alright for the budget. However, the bed was very noisy and I move a lot in my sleep. I kept waking the whole dorm when I moved.

I loved my stay at Haka house Mt cook! I stayed in an 8 bed dorm room and found it to be very comfortable. The lockers were big and beds felt really private. Clean shower rooms and toilets. Kitchen was well equipped. The views right outside are absolutely stunning!

Very nice hostel in a wonderful location. Everything in Mount Cook Villaga is walking distance... no need for a vehicle when there. Property is very well kept and staff are present for most of the day. Everything you could need at your finger tips.
