As soon as I walked in it stank in the room, no aircon near bed without door open and constant light shining in from road on hinterland side, there was mould around the bath and felt it needed a total tile renovation. Also shower head was from many years ago and sprayed everywhere.

The room was not ready fo us. They didn’t empty rubbish from the earlier people that were there. We were wondering if the bed linnen were fres. There was only 1 toilet roll for three people for two days and when we brought it up to the duty manager’s attention she was making all sort of excuses. She said they don’t put more than one toilet roll because people waisted it.

Disappointing Anniversary Stay We booked a Deluxe Ocean View Suite at Mantra Ettalong Beach to celebrate our anniversary, and even called ahead to confirm we’d have a beautiful ocean view on a higher floor. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t match what was promised or paid for. Arriving at reception, we were told that the room we were meant to have is no longer available. Appalling service! The room we received was not deluxe, tired and dated, with two single beds pushed together instead of a king. The bathroom was disappointing, with mould in the shower and an old spa bath that was high and awkward to step into. Not a deluxe ocean view suite. The “ocean view” was more of a pool view on a lower level, where we could clearly hear conversations from the pool area, which made it feel far from private or special. Definitely not a room suited for a celebration. There was minimal acknowledgment of our anniversary, just drink vouchers for the club next door that didn’t cover basic drinks. Had we got the room we were promised, I would have rated much better. Overall, a disappointing stay that didn’t match the price or promises. We won’t stay here again.
