This hotel did not live up to our expectations. The decor in throughout is very dark and oppressive. Our room had no fridge, no safe and only a bath. There was a spray attachment but we could not use it as a stand up shower. We had booked for 5 nights but left after 2 to a better hotel. We could not get our money back as we had booked through Expedia. Hotel would only suit persons staying for 1 night.

I stayed at the Royal Hotel for a week and it was ideal in every way. Easy walk to train station, tram lines, old city, Place de la Comédie, etc. Very nice breakfasts and accommodating staff. It is a very old hotel that has been nicely updated. Very comfy bed and good air-conditioning. Nice bathroom with shower. Very clean.

Great location right off the Comedie. Front desk staff was very helpful. They contract with a specific parking garage so if you’re driving be sure to ask for directions as parking is expensive. Would definitely stay again.

We were only there for a couple days, but the Royal Hotel was perfectly situated between the Comedie and La Roch train station, the staff was friendly, you could get a cappuccino there for free anytime in the afternoon if you need to pick me up, and there are just a wealth of cultural and dining options nearby. Love this experience!
