When I selected this hotel, I thought it was a bit closer to Cannery Row but that is my fault and certainly not the hotels. The historic nature of the property is not well played. There is a lot of period furniture and such but some aspects feel very dated and are in average to poor condition. There is no elevator in one of the buildings. The check in desk is down several stairs when dropping your car off. Luckily the elevator is near that entrance but it would be better if it was signed and you didn't move all your stuff down there to just have to drag it back up. Some staff members were warm and personable (car valet) and others less so (Front Desk at check in). Room was OK. The bathroom was not nice -- it was clean but the for example the vanity was VERY low as was the toilet.

This is an older older hotel but that’s what makes it so cozy. My room didn’t have central heater/air but had a fire place. Some rooms do have Central heating and Air I think you need to ask the front desk if that’s important to you. My room was Comfy and clean. Staff was super friendly. They do provide valet parking and it is expensive they say it’s like $30+ dollars but after all these ridiculous add one it’s like $60 still it’s a great hotel

The staff was helpful. I liked the water refill stations throughout the hotel. The location was fantastic! There are two parking garages within a block so I would not pay for valet parking. (My sister drove and we found a spot for her car for less than half the cost to valet the car with the hotel staff.) The hotel was very loud and creaky! When people walked up or down stairs, flushed or showered, it was as though they were in my room! The room was small and the carpet and blanket in the closet need a good cleaning! I probably will not stay here again, but the price and location were good for my needs.

Great location, you can walk to lots of restaurants, shops, and the wharf. Only downside is no AC, but windows do open wide to allow airflow. Loved how water dispensers were available in the lobby and our floor. Front desk staff was always kind and helpful.

I booked this hotel because of the beautiful appearance it shows online. However, it is not the same. We arrived, checked in, and went up to the room to find out that the hotel does not have A/C. There was a stand-up fan waiting for us. Windows were open, noises from the street and fumes coming into the window. We asked for a new room. The lady at the desk was very kind and did give us a new room that had a ceiling fan. However, the carpets are not clean, towels are thread born, and the place is virtually in need of some TLC. Not even a muffin, only coffee served at the main area. When we left, there was one person manning the front desk and doubling for a Valet. We had to wait almost 1/2 an hour to get our car. I'm sorry I did not check the reviews before booking at this hotel.

No air conditioning! First room was blazing hot and the fan they provided was filthy. Never brought another fan. Switched room which was an improvement but the old hotel is definitely showing a great deal of wear.
