SeaGarden Resort was wonderful! We had a fantastic time during our week stay in Jamaica. The resort is conveniently located near the airport and walking distance to local shops. The staff at the resort were friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an affordable place to vacation. We will definitely be returning!

The private beach was amazing! Beautiful! Plenty of beach chairs and activities. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was clean. Not a lot of meal options. Just the buffet in the main dining room, an Italian restaurant and another that you paid a little extra for. (Skip that, in my opinion). Beach bar had a few options for quick burgers, chicken, fries. Snack bar near pool was ok. Met one of the owners in the piano bar and she sent us fresh coconuts to our room. Very hospitable and will definitely go back to this resort.

Jewel by the Sea

SeaGarden is jewel by the sea, with almost everything we need in a long-weekend getaway. We had the special opportunity to experience "Jamaica Day" (Feb. 28) this trip--the dinner buffet/desserts were exceptional! (I didn't know what a fresh baked gizzada tasted like, as store bought are usually a week old -- this one melted in my mouth! A big thank you to the pastry chefs!) We're breakfast people, even on holiday, and appreciated the omelet bar/buffet with corned beef and curry chicken. The banana bread/carrot bread are delicious, too. Thursday night we enjoyed the piano bar from 6-7pm. On Monday night we went again, this time for appetizers, as it was Manager's Special night. (Speaking of appetizers, we noticed them appearing at the pool bar from 6-7pm, which was great, as the dinner buffet opens at 7pm and we're used to eating dinner closer to 5:30pm at home.) We drink a lot of water and liked filling our own bottles with filtered cold water at two locations -- inside the dining room (back corner before you exit to the restrooms) and inside left front corner of the pool bar. Thanks for this! SeaGarden maintains a lovely property. This time the tennis courts were being resurfaced. In the meantime, we found exercise by snorkeling in the bay, walking the beach, working out in the fitness room and through various activities in the game room (both located near the pool bar). (Only one negative comment -- room temp water in our sink/shower, no hot. Couldn't be fixed.)
The piano bar has a new sign! It is upstairs in the main building (above the lobby). Visit on Thursday and Monday nights!
You're only 5 minutes from the airport and can watch the airplanes come in from the sea (but they're not actually noisy/distracting).
Snorkel near the rocky areas and see minnows, fish, and coral. You can borrow snorkel gear free of charge (opens at 9am).
Take a lunch break on the upper deck--enjoy jerk chicken from the grill below. (Grill open 11:30am-5:30pm.)

Overall pretty good. Beach is great. People out on road were loud and constantly hustling. Rooms were clean, could use bigger cups for drinks. Bring your own so you don’t have to keep going up to get some.

Very close to the airport was the main reason I stayed here . Front desk staff was very great and check in was very easy.The only thing I didn't like was going across the street to take a dip in the ocean but that was ok because the staff was very nice

I would say it was amazing. The service was great. It's a little slower than what we're used to in the United States, but all the same pretty good. Check-in Ms. Kassandra and Ms. Claudia truly amazing. They need a raise. The food was great compared to anywhere else at any other resort that we've eaten at in jamaica. There are no elevators but there are a bunch of rooms on the ground floor and 2nd floor. Hotel was very boutique-y and vintage, but in a good way. I will definitely come back. Planning on bringing the kids next spring break. The beach and the accessibility to shops and attractions were great. Everything within walking distance. Most of the locals are helpful, but you still have to be mindful of scams with taxis and watch out for female drivers. They seem to be the ones. That I use to run the most scams. The older ladies help us around the city, it gives a real community sense of community. We bought local with the local vendors first before going to any commercial businesses. And they were great felt safe for the most part, but I am a New Yorker, so it is about the same environment/ culture. Vendors were pushy, but polite, so a simple no, thank you and continuing to walk on by works well. Tips are not necessary, but are appreciated.One u s dollar goes a long way.

We enjoyed the beach and water sports. The beach bar ran out of alcohol every day. The menu was limited at the beach bar. There were only two additional restaurants that you could sign up for. The food was good, but you had to pay $38 extra per person at the seafood restaurant. The Expedia room needed to be redone. The bathroom was dirty. Our air conditioner broke, and they had to move us to another room. Luckily, it was nicer. They advertise a wine bar, but it is only open upon request. We like wine tasting; however, you had to pay $14 for one glass of wine, or you would have to buy an entire bottle. The resort is next to the airport, and you can smell the jet fuel when you are on the beach. It made me nauseous.
