On 7.19.25, there was no water. I called the front desk and was told the engineer was evaluating the issue. I mentioned my daughter has severe eczema and inquired how long this would be a problem, I was told, "I don't know." I suggested they ask the manager, but I was put on hold then transferred to guest services. I went to the front desk and spoke with the MOD Denton, who said he didn't know my room was without water. Then another hotel guest approached the front desk and reported they were without water, the staff was taken aback. Then Bergili (incorrect spelling) claimed there was no water in all of Montego Bay, but he later acknowledged he lacked evidence to support his assertion. Winsome, the General Manager, intervened and said the water tank only needed to be switched. Overall, bathroom in my room was not the cleanest (mold in tile) and the hotel is outdated; customer service is poor.

Though this resort is in transition at rhis time, the staff did everything possible to make my stay pleasant. The food was delicious as always. Got to see the new room model and the place will be very nice once finished.

Disliked: The bathroom was a major disappointment. It had an outdated appearance and a persistent musty odor. Additionally, there was visible dirt and mold around the tub. Also, I found the food options to be repetitive. The last time I visited the property was 15 years ago, and before that, it was once a year for 4 years. After the renovations are completed, I will revisit.

I loved the warm staff and great service. The food was also excellent. The shower curtain was a bit short which caused some water to wet the bathroom floor. The wifi was a bit poor as well but overall I would recommend this hotel

I enjoyed my stay at Catalonia, the food options were good, I enjoyed the day-to-day activities that were able to be accessed like kayaking and karaoke. I had mixed reviews from the staff, some staff members were very nice and respectful, and then there were some that did not provide the customer service that I hoped to receive while visiting. Catalonia was a decent first experience in Jamaica but I probably wouldn’t choose to stay again due to encountering things like the elevator not working, the limited availability of restaurant reservations for the different dining options, and also how the bars restrict basic drink options (Jack Daniels, Malibu etc.) for “privileged guests“ despite purchasing the all-inclusive package.

Too many cats, they bother while having breakfast or dinner inside restaurants, they drink pool water, my wife got an allergy and couldn’t enjoyed enough. Flies and bees inside restaurants and on top of the bottles and glasses. My wife’s short disappear from the room. Nobody was there to welcome guests at arrival and person need to get water or some drink on their own at arrival. Beach was very nice but pool was not deep enoug at only 3.5 feet.

After seeing mixed reviews, I was a bit skeptical about my booking but Catalonia did not disappoint. Everything was amazing. The staff, the facilities the food,everything. For a hotel that is undergoing construction they sure did not disappoint. My only complaint if I can call it that was the long wait to check in. We arrived in the morning and check in is at 3 so we had to wait, but they secured our bags and give us armbands to explore and enjoy the hotel.

The staff was not pleasant. Everyone seems to have an attitude there when you ask them a question. My first room was dirty had to ask to be moved to a different room with my family.

Everything was great.. beside the reservation happening next to my room.. are last two day around 9am there where drilling and you can hear it clearly throw the walls.. on top of that we found two roaches in are bathroom.
