Rod hire is available in town for three fishing lochs at the Green Frog Centre on the edge of Moffat, which also has an adventure play park and animal farm. Edinburgh, Carlisle, Glasgow and the historic castles and abbeys in the borders are within an hour of Moffat. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

A very nice cottage in Moffat
This is a very nice cottage in a great location. Turn left and you are 200 yards from the centre of Moffat and if you turn right you are 200 yards from a beautiful river walk, we saw deer and a dipper.
The cottage is clean, comfortable and nicely set out. The kitchen works so you can make a decent meal, the sitting room is warm with a nice wood burner, the central heating is great. It’s a nice place to be and very quite at night.
Moffat has good walking routes on its doorstep, very nice pubs, a good outdoor shop, it’s only an easy 90 minutes to Edinburgh and it’s just over the border with England so it’s easy to get to.
We will certainly return, by the way the chip shop 60 yards up the road is very good indeed.
