Luxurious Historical Home in Downtown!

Your biggest decision when staying at the Hickory House will be to stay at home or go explore all that Milford has to offer - just minutes from your doorstep! Indoors, enjoy luxury mattresses and furnishings, expansive coffee/tea bar, limitless draft root beer, games & puzzles! Read a book as the kids enjoy hours on the stair slide! Outdoors, you'll relax in a beautiful, private yard which offers a fire pit, grill & hot tub, as well as many yard games, including an authentic bocce court!

This historical home boasts three bedrooms in total - Bedroom 1 (Queen) in located on the main level. Bedroom 2 (Queen) and Bedroom 3 (Full) are located on the 2nd level. In addition to luxury mattresses, we also offer premium bedding to our guests.

There is also a twin sized pull-out bed (LoveJoy brand) in the secondary living area, as well as a twin sized rollaway on the main level.

A fully equipped kitchen with flatware and cookware is available for guest use. Luxury coffee and tea bar is located on the kitchen counter. Other drinking glasses, mixology kit and ice bucket are located on the wet bar off the dining room. There is also complimentary root beer available on tap!

The backyard offers several private areas to enjoy. There is a fire pit with chairs in the back of the property, along side a raised bocci court providing hours of fun! Other outdoor games can be found in the plastic storage bin next to the garage. A table, chairs and gas grill are located on the deck.

Kensington Metropark, Camp Dearborn and Proud Lake Recreation Area are all less than 5 miles from The Hickory House! Alpine Valley, Mt. Brighton Ski Resort and Pine Knob Ski and Snowboarding are all within a 15 drive for our snow enthusiasts. For small town dining and fun, you are only two blocks from beautiful downtown Milford with an ample variety of restaurants and shops to fulfill your every need. If you are looking for a bigger city experience, Ann Arbor and Detroit with all of their culinary and cultural treasures are both within a 40 minute drive of your doorstep!

There is an Xbox with two wireless controllers located in the front room on top of the fireplace.

Washer and dryer are available for guest use and located in the basement. Laundry soap and fabric softener are complimentary.

As per Vrbo guidelines, absolutely no parties are allowed on the premises.

Don't even hesitate, stay here. The home is appointed with everything you would need. From toiletries to kitchen utensils, a coffee and tea bar to root beer on tap. The beds are all very comfortable with quality bedding. The hosts were very responsive and ensured the place was ready. They thought of everything.

Revisiting hometown memories

My daughter and I stayed for a week while we were handling some family business. Our mornings were glorious as we walked through the community to Central Park and up Main Street. The location is convenient to the parks and restaurants; the backyard is comfortable for relaxing morning and evening; the kitchen stocked well; the bedrooms comfortable and stylishly decorated. I would definitely choose this property again for a MIlford visit.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay! We selected this rental to attend a local wedding and made it a long weekend. This house is adorable, super clean, and the host has thought of everything a group would need to have a comfortable and entertaining stay. The coffee/tea bar, locally brewed root beer on tap, cozy family room with soft blankets, comfortable bedding, and wonderfully stocked kitchen! We walked into Milford to shop and eat and enjoyed a day at Kensington Park a short drive away. Brandy was amazing and so accommodating for everything we needed!

The Perfect Place for Families

The Hickory House was the perfect place to stay while in town for a family reunion. The house is on a quiet street in the beautiful community of Milford. A short walk to the downtown area for dinner was very convenient and the long walks to see the historic homes were fulfilling. The Hickory House had ample room for my crew, and everything in the home was well appointed and amazingly comfortable. We will absolutely be back to Hickory House to make more memories! Brandi is a wonderful host, thoughtful, responsive, and the property was exceptional!

Lovely home near downtown Milford

This is a beautiful home within walking distance to downtown Milford. It’s very clean and beautifully decorated. The backyard is surrounded by mature trees and it’s very serene to sit on the deck. Linens were of excellent quality as are the mattresses. The neighborhood feels extremely safe and quiet. The host left us a delicious batch of homemade cookies and a welcoming note. Everything was in good working order and the home was stocked with any toiletries you may need. We hope it’s available for our next trip to Milford!
