This is the second time we went to Mexico City and we stayed in the same hotel, the Barcelo Mexico Reforma, which is unusual for us as we like to try new places, however, the experience we had the first time made it a must to return for. For the following reasons;
Staff are amazing , helpful and courteous, especially Didier at the front desk, always willing to help with a smile and friendly conversation. Other mentions for Esmerelda at breakfast, Jacqueline at Premium level Happy Hour , Cesar the luggage guy, Kar Mi at the omelette station and more, who’s names I didn’t remember. All staff were excellent.
Hotel has everything you need, swimming pool, gym and centrally located in Reforma. A 20 minute walk to the central Zocalo square . Hop on, Hop off tour bus is a 2 minute walk away to take you to other popular parts of Mexico City such as Roma, La Condesa, Polanco, Coyoacán. The hotel is on a Main Street Paseo de La Reforma, close to major landmarks such as Palacio de Bellas Artes, Angel of Independence and a 15 minute Uber ride from both Chapultepec Castle and National Museum of Anthropology.
Make sure you pay extra for the breakfast as there’s so many hot and cold items of Mexican, American and International food, fresh juices and an egg/ omelette station. I would also recommend upgrading to Premium level rooms for a Happy Hour from 6-8 for free drinks ( beer and wine) and a selection of canapes and desserts. Well worth the upgrade price! A great hotel!!
