A must in the historic District

Step back in time at this beautiful hotel with its elegant French-inspired interior. The stained glass alone is a marvel, and enjoying a meal or drink on the balcony while overlooking the Zócalo is truly breathtaking. An absolute must when staying in the historic district.

Mexico vacation

The hotel is amazingly beautiful abd super clean. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff is very friendly. It can get a little loud outside sometimes with the outdoors music and crowds but overall it was good stay. Our drivers, Cristian and Julio were both very professional and always punctual. I would use the hotel and the services again. Great stay!

The hotel itself is absolutely breathtaking and you will not get a better view of the zocalo. We had a large room and bathroom with a bathtub. Air conditioning worked well. Comfortable beds. Large towels. All the amenities you would expect for a 5-star hotel. The staff was amazing, especially our porter, Emmanuel. He went above and beyond to help us with our luggage and explain the history of the hotel. He even walked us a block away to help us meet our Uber. We were treated very well by the Gran Hotel and would highly recommend to all! 10/10

2-night stay in the Gran Ciudad Hotel

I had a nice stay in the Gran Ciudad Hotel. The staff were very helpful and the hotel is conveniently located next to the Zocalo. The terrace restaurant has magnificent views. Our room was both spacious and quiet. The hotel lobby is an absolute gem but the interiors of the bedrooms and toilets are a little dated and could do with being refreshed. The residents room is a great idea, however there could be instructions to help people use the coffee machine. One major issue was that we checked-in on what was Independence Day. We couldn’t access the hotel due to multiple road closures and had to wait several hours until they re-opened. This effectively eliminated a day of our stay in Mexico City. I do feel the hotel could have emailed us to warn us in advance of the difficulties that we faced.

First time staying for Mexico’s Independance day. Even though it was a struggle to get the event package, I was glad I did. The service was amazing and the event was well organized and worth the price. The only inconvenience is the hotel does not have private parking or drive up for Uber unless you request a taxi at the front desk. Otherwise, you have to catch the uber at the end of the block.

The hotel and their restaurant are OK. There were things I didn’t like such as we weren’t allowed to check in 20 minutes early, the toiletries in the bathroom were not stocked, no Zocalo view even though that’s what we booked and an employee asked me to leave the lobby because visiting hours were over - assuming I was someone off the street and not a hotel guest. We also weren’t offered anything even though we supposedly have Expedia “VIP Access”.

A must in Mexico City

Staff was amazing - friendly and courteous. First class. Hotel beautiful, clean and conveniently located in the middle of sites, shops and restaurants. Rooftop restaurant a plus! During stay there was a huge rain storm - our room leaked and flooded. Staff immediately reassigned room and cane to mice out belongings. Highly recommend.
