I requested a room higher up because I had read the reviews about excessive noise. And there was no noise at all! We had wonderful restful nights here (we were on the ninth floor). Only one elevator worked and it was pretty grimy but we never had to wait long. The price was quite reasonable. Shower worked wonderfully. Room was huge. We had a separate living room area but it was a little old looking. Overall we would recommend it

Thoroughly recommended

It was definitely the best place to stay in the centre of Mexico City. The suites are fantastic. The staff, at the reception, bell boys and cleaners, were all helpful, friendly and welcoming. There was absolutely no problem with noise. There are clubs and bars around which might be noisy at times, but keeping the windows closed (you don’t need them open with the air conditioning anyway) you can barely hear anything from the outside. There is a terrace at the top with great views of the surroundings. (A perfect place to drink a glass of wine and smoke a cigarette if you do and relax on your own or with friends.) The zona rosa is not what it used to be (it is rather run down and neglected but it still keeps some of its charm). Reforma avenue is just a couple of blocks away and is thriving with great places to eat and visit. It is an excellent place to walk to many landmarks, trendy areas and museums without the burden of the traffic jams. Price wise, I think it was the best choice to stay in the City.

I wanted to like this hotel.

The location is great and the housekeeping staff are wonderful. Cleanliness was not the issue. When we first arrived, the man who assisted with our luggage was also great. We booked the room because the price, layout of a nice suite, and location fit our needs. However, a few issues really made this untenable. There was only one working elevator with a 4 person capacity and, at times, waiting for it took way too long and sometimes it would arrive a full capacity so you couldn’t get on anyways. Also the lack of sensors that stopped the elevator from closing on a persons limb was downright scary. Second, the room with full blast A/C all day could not get lower than 23.5 (74 Fahrenheit) even though it was set much much lower. No assistance was offered other than suggestions to open the window but the window opened to some massive outside vent for the building just produced heat that rose up to counteract any air coming in. Small requests to the staff during the stay were handled very professionally by some and other front desk folks just came off as dismissive. The location is great and really these improvements could take this place from untenable to perfect. However, when I return, I’ll have to select a different placd in the area.

While this hotel is convenient to many parts of the city, it was not a particularly comfortable place to stay. The bed was painfully hard; the room was noisy from the street below, but also from the "loving" guests in the room next door at 3 AM. The staff was friendly when addressed, but seemed so busy with paperwork, etc., they rarely looked up from their desk. This made us wonder about the security of the place since you did not need to present a key or anything to get upstairs. Towles and sheets were dingy, pilled, and thread worn. The room was spacious (suite), the shower was good enough, but all in all this is not a place worthy of four stars. After three nights of very bad sleep, we forfeited four pre-paid nights and found another place.
