Property Description:
Annie’s Place is a charming 300-year-old townhouse in the heart of Mdina — Malta’s ancient capital, famous for its Silent City walls, peaceful streets and timeless atmosphere. With original features like a rare Norman Arch dating back over 500 years, Annie’s Place lets guests step back in time while enjoying modern comfort.
Unlike many listings just outside the gates, this house sits truly inside Mdina’s walls — a rare chance to live where nobles and knights once walked, with historic squares, cafés and hidden alleys just steps away.
Lovingly renovated, Annie’s Place is ideal for two guests but can host up to four using the sofa bed in the cozy living room. The entrance hall and living area features two large sofas (one converts to a bed) plus a lounge chair, a chest stocked with books, maps and local tips, and an antiporta that brings in sunshine while keeping privacy.
Off the living room, you’ll find a bathroom with shower, WC and washing machine. Please note: the compact water heater means it’s best to allow 20–30 minutes between showers for reheating when groups of three or four — a small trade-off in a classic home like this.
The bright kitchen and dining area seats four comfortably and is fully equipped with hob, oven, microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle. The main double bedroom sits beyond the kitchen and includes a small study nook — perfect for reading, planning your day or catching up on emails.
Annie’s Place is warm and inviting year-round — a true slice of Mdina’s history, best for couples but flexible enough for small families or close friends.
Guest Access:
Guests have full and exclusive access to the entire property. There are no shared spaces.
Owner Interaction with guests:
Myself or a member of my family will be available to welcome the guests to the property. We live nearby and are always happy to help during your stay. You’ll have full privacy, but if you ever need local recommendations, help with bookings (airport transfers or other taxi journeys), or anything unexpected — we’re just a message away and ready to assist.
Other details to note:
For people that book for a few nights we are happy to prepare a small welcome package with some traditional food and drinks from Malta including a local wine favoured by the locals.
Phone signal may be limited due to Mdina’s thick walls — we recommend using Wi-Fi apps for calls and messages.
Given space restrictions, a reduced-size water heater had to be installed. Therefore, guests should ideally avoid taking immediate successive showers and wait 20-30 minutes in order for the water heater to re-heat.
Environmental Contribution (Eco-Tax): In line with Maltese regulations, an environmental contribution of €0.50 per person per night applies to guests aged 18 and over, capped at €5 per stay. This will increase from 1 July 2026 to €1.50 per person per night, applied to guests aged 18 and over, capped at €22.50 per stay. This contribution is collected in cash during check-in. We kindly ask guests to have the amount available on arrival, and we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
