We picked this house because it advertised it having a hot tub. We didn’t find out It was broken until we were checking in, but overall very nice house. We had a great time. We’ll definitely come back.
The property is kept in great condition, and it’s so spacious! The view is unreal, the pictures do not do it justice. The road up was difficult but fun. Overall, I would go back and definitely recommend!
Beautiful views, close enough to town to do business yet far enough out to see deer daily in yard. Place was spotless with plenty of firewood. My girls and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more!
Yes, we saw both at this home, Great views, fantastic quite stay. This home would easily hold a large family and talk about private. Dont mind the sign that says dont enter this area, just go past that, some harmless locals. The drive is really not bad at all.
Beautiful home and view. Slight issues with cleaning (dirty wash cloths and towels, hot tub clarity). The road prior to the driveway is not paved and says keep out. Otherwise very nice. Would stay again.
As good as the pictures are, they don’t do it justice. It was a perfect stay for us. We had one day that rained off and on all day and kept us at the house and everyone agreed it was their favorite day of the trip. There’s plenty to do inside and outside. We just thoroughly enjoyed it! The kids are already talking about what times of the year they want to come back. It’s just about the easiest check in and check out process I’ve ever experienced too. Highly recommended

This was only my second time booking with VRBO, so I was not fully aware of privacy policies regarding camera placement until our friends arrived and pointed out cameras overlooking the hot tub and outdoor areas. By then, we had already extended our stay an extra night because friends we only see once a year came from Charleston, SC to meet us. We traveled from Louisville, KY for this annual trip. The views were beautiful, but several issues affected our stay. We felt uncomfortable using the outdoor spaces because it seemed like we were being watched while eating outside, sunbathing, and using the hot tub. Because of that, we spent more time inside or off the property doing activities. There was also no fence or barrier near the fire pit despite a steep drop nearby, which felt unsafe. A burn ban had reportedly been in effect over a week before our stay, but we were never told. We only found out when we started putting wood in the fire pit and immediately received a text telling us not to use it, which added to the feeling of being monitored. Sitting around a fire making s’mores with friends is a big part of a mountain trip, so this was disappointing. We also had no hot water Friday and Saturday for showers. After the stay, we requested a partial refund due to the privacy concerns and other issues. The only offer was 20% off a future stay with the same company. Overall, the scenery was lovely, but the safety and privacy concerns trumped us ever booking with YONDER again.
If you are looking for a place to get away from it all and reconnect with loved ones, this is the place. We chose overlook mountain retreat for our first family trip with our adult children and their significant others, and it was perfect. There was plenty of space to escape and find a few quiet moments alone when needed, yet plenty of things to do together. We had pool and video game tournaments, roasted smores at the fire pit, relaxed in the hot tub, played board games, and took little trips now and then to Marshall, Mars Hill, and Weaverville. The house was very clean and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. Be aware that the driveway is very steep. There aren’t tons of things to do in the nearby area unless you’re ok with venturing a little further to Asheville, but that was fine with us. Wonderful stay!
If we are being honest …. First house infested with roaches wasted our Friday waiting to be moved … second house was fair price for what we invested in first property and out $600 to be exact besides the grief it’s caused and we got to second home fridge not working had to bring us cooler with ice… and currently we have no hot water for shower and planning a float trip at 1pm which is an hour from here …. Very disappointing worst trip we have ever taken ! This was our one family vacation here before school so with that being said won’t come back
Overall the house is beautiful setting is beautiful. Amazing views, beautiful fire pit and great deck. A few things to know for your stay. House is very loud if you are not in one of actual bedrooms you can hear everything in the house. Once one person is awake upstairs it is very difficult to sleep especially in the loft or the downstairs which has the most beds. So if you are staying with a large group being earplugs. House had a well equipped kitchen and fun game room. A few negatives. The listing should warn you that you need to put your car in low gear. The gate comes at the steepest part of the driveway. If you don’t put your car in low it is hard to regain momentum and your tires spin. We arrived at night so it would have been nice to be a bit more prepared for this. Also you will pass a painted rock saying no turn around that many of our women found creepy just keep driving. Also if you are intimidated by an insanely steep driveway with very tight turns at steep angles this is probably not the place for you. Also checkout was at 10 which is very early and they pre-warn you that the cleaning crew can arrive as early as 10:01. Well out cleaning crew arrived at about 9:20 which was very annoying as we then felt like we were being rushed out with an already early checkout. We had planned to take some pictures prior to our departure and had to go ask the crew to move. Overall not a huge deal we just didn’t appreciate feeling rushed out earlier then necessary.
