Lovely bed and breakfast tucked away in beautiful surroundings just outside of the town. All facilities were of a very high standard and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. Lots of helpful local information and advice on where to go and what to see/do. An excellent choice of accommodation in every way.

Lovely hotel secluded in a bush setting

Pros: Electric Blanket for the cold and terrific breads for breakfast
Location: Located 1 minute from a fairly important tourist road and only 5 minutes drive from the centre of Margaret River township. Wineries abound close by.
The hotel is beautifully situated in the bush not far from the town of Margaret River and the main road thoroughfare. The room was lovely (and the electric blanket on the bed a welcome addition in the cold weather) and the breakfast was terrific with home made breads and various jams and honey. Definitely somewhere we will return to when next we visit this wonderful region.

Great BnB

Pros: wasn't too far out of town but lovely and quiet, the spa was a bonus.
Cons: possibly just the gardens outside our room where we sat for a drink could have been maintained a little better
Location: Swan Valley region, heaps of wineries, cafes, restaurants and shopping near by
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this BnB, room was clean, bed was comfy, spa was relaxing, nice to stay in a room that wasn't run down and in need of a renovation. Continental breakfast was included with a great variety and homemade breads which is always nice to have the personal touch, the hosts were friendly, helpful and not intrusive.

Hi Sharelle, Thanks for your review. Glad you enjoyed the B&B. The garden is a bit rambling but that is how we like it. We do need you correct your typo / Freudian Slip as we are in the Margaret River Wine Region. The Swan Valley region is just north of Perth in the foothills of the Darling Ranges. They produce some nice wine there but not the quality of premium wines that you find down here. Also the Swan Valley does not have the beaches, forests, caves, lighthouses and other attractions that the Margaret River Region has. But glad you enjoyed your stay here nevertheless. Regards, Dirk & Pam

Tired home on the outskirts of M/R

A comfy home with 4 guest rooms, but it's furnished just like your grandmothers with old tired furniture etc. Breakfast is cereal fruit toast - if you want eggs etc you pay extra. Amateur artwork adorns the walls and it's all for sale. Locale is ok, but you need to drive to get into M/R. The large downside is that there is a large chook pen very close to the house which contains 9 hens 5 ducks and 2 roosters - crowing starts at 4 am every morning followed by clucking and quacking which wakes the house. The surrounds need a good clean up as there is piles of junk and disused parts. Etc piled around the sheds.

Dear Tex, Thanks for leaving a review & for mentioning the art work from an award winning landscape painter. Sorry if you expected a glass & chrome style city accommodation & that the re-upholstered furniture looked tired to you but your grandmother had good taste as it is totally appropriate for a house in the SW countryside and as you say, a comfy home. Glad you liked the extensive continental breakfast of 6 cereals 6 fruits 8 homemade breads 3 healthy nuts & seed bowls, oat-cakes waffles muffins & a platter of ham salami olives cheese & tomatoes, local jams and our own honey. Most guests don’t want a cooked breakfast, so it is only fair that those wanting a cooked breakfast pay a little bit extra. Glad you liked our locale as we are very centrally located, 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from the town yet situated in a serene patch of forest. Every few years or so someone does complain about our two roosters but their sounds are quite muffled coming from within the hen house 150m away. One of the sounds of being in the country, like the possums fighting in the gum trees at night. Most guests don’t hear them but if you want to, they are there. We also often get owls calling at night that keep guests awake, but that is because they love the sounds. Please note, our 5 Rouen ducks hardly make a sound. Glad you appreciated the lovely gardens around the house. Obviously our sheds are a private area that guests normally don’t go to so we are rather sad they upset you. Regards, Pam & Dirk
