This is a very old hotel, I recall it as a Holidome back when I was in college. Doubletree is clearly in the process of updating it, but they have a good way to go. The room had been recently updated but still has the very old layout with a tiny and inconvenient bathroom. The shower door did not close all the way, so the floor was soaking wet after every use. The bed was the typically comfortable DT bed, but the room was so hot at night that I was never able to get a good night sleep. I attempted to ask for Maintenace to look at the AC, but they never did or never had any luck. The bar / restaurant is basically non-existent, which is too bad. I recall it being a fairly fun sports bar with decent bar food over the years. It's in a great location, and they are trying, but they have a long way to go in order to be able to compete well with all of the newer hotels in downtown Manhattan.

Great Place to Stay in Manhattan

The hotel was remodeled and is a beautiful space. The rooms are quiet even when people were in the pool area. The staff was friendly and helpful. Itvwas graduation weekend for both the local college and high schools so we were grateful to be able to book a room. The only issue was the water pressure in the toilet was low so it filled slowly and didn't always flush completely. The staff did attempt to fix it but it still didn't work quite right-it wasn't so bad we needed to change rooms or hotels just an inconvenience and hopefully they can figure out the problem while they have the room empty. The hotel had packaged options and coffee available for breakfast which we didn't take advantage of, hopefully they can offer breakfast in the future as they have what looks like a space that would work. Overall we will definitely stay here again when we come to visit family.

Cold Showers & Evacuation

On graduation weekend this hotel had a gas leak, forcing an evacuation for hours on Saturday. To top it off, there was no hot water, leaving us with cold showers. Hugely inconvenient and poorly timed. Management needs to address these issues to prevent future disruptions.

I didn't like that they had a gas leak and just let a note under everybody's door and letting us know about it and we had no hot water over the weekend or even when I checked out on Monday morning I had to take my dog out and the elevator was not working because of the gas leak and I'm handicapped and I had to walk down two flights of stairs and I fell down the first flight of stairs

It was not their fault a pipe broke and when we had only a small water in the bathroom basin and NO hot water. Again bad things happen and they were doing their best to correct it

This is graduation weekend so they were very limited options to reserve with regards to accommodations. We were familiar with the standard of Doubletree and anticipated this hotel to have that standard. It appears to be an old holiday Inn from the 1970s that had been somewhat redone Very poor Lighting in the rooms, confusing hotel layout, (interior, and exterior rooms) definitely geared toward children as there is a swimming pool in the atrium. We found out that there had been a carbon monoxide leak overnight that no one knew about which required the hotel to turn the gas off, so there was no hot water in any of the rooms. No one had been told that this would be the case so there were ice cold Showers. We did tell the front desk, which gave us a total refund, but we much rather would’ve preferred to have a decent Stay then have to tell the management that it was a miserable experience.

Graduation weekend troubles.

There’s no hot water and the hot tub that they advertised has been closed due to changing into a baby pool. The continental breakfast that we added also was only called breakfast due to a gas leak so their kitchen was shut down.

OK, but not top notch.

Front desk staff - friendly, efficient. Hot tub and one elevator was out of commission. Breakfast is ok. Bed was super comfortable, but the pillows could be better. Would stay again while traveling but it's not top notch.
