This was an adequate experience. The room wasn’t great or awful. The sheets were clean, but there were cigarette holes in them. The room seemed dingy and dark. The bed could have used a decent comforter. Everything about the place was the minimum effort and that was noticeable. Staff was not particularly friendly. I was asked what room I was in several times while passing through the lobby and while having breakfast. I had a sense they were always on the lookout for people stealing their meager breakfast offerings. Everyone spoke politely enough but it wasn’t friendly or welcoming. This is my second stay here. The first one was several years ago when I witnessed a racially charged exchange between a black man peacefully waiting for a taxi in the lobby and the owners trying to make him wait outside in the cold. Human decency wasn’t observed. Overall the stay was unpleasant. I’m glad I didn’t have to be in the public areas much.
Only sweet n low, the sweetener of 50 years ago
I wondered why they had one in the breakfast room and one in the lobby, but the lobby machine has a sign warning it was only available 6-9 AM. Completely ungracious.
Those mini bagels were crunchy before toasting.
