In 1853, gold was discovered at Maldon and within a few years there were 20,000 miners and 70 pubs in the town. One of these was 'The Eaglehawk Hotel'. A fire destroyed the timber hotel in the late 1800's and a new hotel was rebuilt in Edwardian splendour in 1906.
Today, this historic hotel can be yours.
The hotel is fully self catering and BYO and retains all the features from the Goldrush days. The Public Bar, Dining Hall and Ladies Lounge are all available for your exclusive use. The hotel sleeps up to 16 with flexible bedding configuration between King and Single beds.
The hotel is the perfect venue for your next Self Cater and BYO function whether it be a Wedding, Party, Conference, Retreat, Birthday, Seminar or Family or Group holiday.
The Eaglehawk - Maldon features: - 90 minute drive from Melbourne - Accommodation for up to 16 people. All linen and towelling is provided. - Extensively equipped. Unique, cozy property in an amazing location
We had such a great time at the Eaglehawk. A beautiful property with a wonderful garden and lots of unique, cozy spaces throughout. A short distance from the lovely town of Maldon, would love to come back for another stay.

A beautiful appointed property furnished in keeping with the historical era.
My family stayed midweek in Autumn and were very impressed with this beautiful Hotel. It was decorated and furnished to the highest standard with amazing attention to detail. The garden was very relaxing sitting under the birch trees enjoying the peace and quiet. The Hotel was spacious, clean, comfortable and a real treat to step back into history. I would highly recommend this experience to others and hope to return again!
