This is a very simple, low budget hotel, but I had a wonderful experience here. Everyone, from the cleaners, to the front desk staff, to management, was incredibly helpful and warm. The Manager, in particular, was especially helpful and warm. At the last minute, he arranged a driver/guide for me to tour Gaur and Adina. During the tour, he called me to make sure that everything was going well! When I tried to offer a commission on the tour, he refused. Malda is not a very tourist oriented town; the infrastructure is poor, and they are not used to foreign visitors at least in the rainy season. That being the case, it makes a huge difference when the hotel staff really take care of the guests. I strongly recommend this hotel.
