Stunning private estate in the hills above Malaga
Finca del Arroyo de las Adelfas is a private estate in a secluded valley in the hills overlooking the city of Málaga. The property is available to rent year-round for holidays, for short winter breaks and as a spectacular venue for weddings and celebrations.
In the middle of 90 acres of olive, almond and carob groves stands a huge classic 19th century “cortijo” (farmhouse), surrounded by shaded terraces and with views across the Montes de Malaga. Until about 40 years ago this was the olive mill serving the local farmers: the stones and press are still intact in the room now used for parties, music and table-tennis.
There are 6 double bedrooms and 4 complete bathrooms in the main house.
Behind and above the house, up a flight of steps, is the large pool (8 x11 metres) and the fully equipped pool cottage. From the pool terrace you can see, past the city of Málaga, the Mediterranean sea.
There is only so much of the real Spain left and Las Adelfas is unique in Andalucia : a beautiful, modernised, traditional farmhouse, with its own pool, in totally private, unspoilt countryside. It combines the privacy of being hidden in the Montes with the convenience of being just minutes from the centre of a bustling city, the beaches of the Costa del Sol and from Málaga International Airport.
The Accommodation The ground floor consists of five main rooms. The olive mill which is a huge airy room, is often used for entertaining or music. It has a large old woodburning Franklin stove. Make it a palatial bedroom in summer or set up the table tennis here in winter! The salon, originally three rooms, consists of a sitting and dining area with a fireplace with wood-burning stove, giving the room a very cosy feel. Two bedrooms, each of which has twin beds.. The large kitchen, which is fully equipped with all the modern conveniences, has a dining area with a long refectory table seating 12 and a traditional open fireplace which makes for a wonderful place to grill and enjoy dinner. The kitchen door opens onto the barbecue area on one of the three extensive terraces around the main house. All these rooms are off the entrance hall with its small central patio, which is open to the sky in summer. In winter the patio is enclosed and warmed by a traditional American pot-bellied stove. Also off the patio is a fully equipped bathroom and a laundry/store room with a full sized freezer. Going upstairs there are two hallways linked by a walkway over the patio. Off the first hallway are two bedrooms and a bathroom; the first (north) bedroom has a king-size bed and its own bathroom. The second (west) bedroom has a double bed and shares the bathroom across the hall with the third bedroom. Across the walkway is the second hallway and two more bedrooms; the third (east) bedroom, with a double bed, is connected directly with the bathroom. The fourth (south) bedroom, has a king-size bed, and like the first, has its own bathroom and additionally a small “baby’s room".
The pool cottage, on the hill behind the house, has two single beds (or an inflatable double), a kitchenette with refrigerator and cooking range, and a bathroom with w.c. and shower room.

Nous avons passé un séjour idyllique dans la superbe propriété de Graham. Située au milieu des collines andalouses et à seulement 15 mn de Málaga, c’est un grand domaine sans vis à vis, avec beaucoup d’espaces pour que chacun puisse s’isoler ou se retrouver en groupe au gré de ses envies. Cette maison incroyablement atypique (c’est un ancien moulin à huile, un vrai musée vivant) est parfaitement équipée pour nous faire vivre de très beaux moments. Nous retenons cette adresse avec plaisir. Graham a été réactif et communiquant, et d’une extrême gentillesse.Nous sommes repartis avec des souvenirs plein la tête.

Historic villa with lots of charm
We (7 friends) stayed for 6 nights in the villa - very handy location only ~25mins to airport and into malaga by car - yet still feels very remote and in the countryside!
Pool and pool house is fantastic - pool is an amazing size so can enjoy a proper swim.
As its in the countryside and we were there in June there's insects about so would advise some bug repellant. But lovely to be somewhere so tranquil and hear the birdsong in the morning.
Villa has lots of 18th century charm with great decor and everything you need for enjoying relaxing and preparing meals. Plenty of space and different spots for relaxing around the different areas around the house. Comfortable beds and spacious bedrooms.
Beautiful flowers around the house!

Sehr schönes und ruhiges Haus
Wir haben ein Wochenende mit Freunden verbracht. Super großes Haus, komplett abgelegen und ruhig. Bei Problemen war die Housekeeperin immer ansprechbar und hilfsbereit. Auch bei Fragen um die Reservierung wurde schnell und im Sinne de Kunden gehandelt.
Es wird jedoch zwingend ein Auto benötigt und sich zu verpflegen oder was unternehmen zu können.
Wir kommen wieder. Immer wieder gerne.

Ein sehr schöner und entspannter Urlaub
Wir waren mit unserer Familie in ihrem sehr schönen Haus. Wir haben das Haus, den Garten und den Pool sehr genossen und hatten viel Spaß mit dem Pool und der Tischtennisplatte. Wir waren mit unserer Familie - mit 14 Personen von 8 Monaten bis 66 Jahren im Haus und haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt.

Super fijne vakantie gehad
We zijn met een groep vrienden (21-25) een week in het huis verbleven. Het huis ligt op een prachtige locatie net buiten Malaga en heeft alles wat je nodig hebt. Enige nadeel was dat er niet heel goed schoongemaakt was, er lagen zelfs nog flesjes bier van de vorige gasten. Dit is niet gek aangezien de schoonmaaksters maar een paar uur krijgen om het gehele huis schoon te maken. Al met al hebben wij een fijne week gehad en is het contact met Graham super.

We went to Malaga for a vacation with friends and stayed at this villa. The villa itself was truely amazing, very beautiful house with awesome views, and a great swimming pool. We did not have our own transport, so we needed to go by Uber/Bolt got the city, which worked fine but was sometimes a bit inconvenient, also for doing groceries. Nevertheless we’ve had an amazing time.
