Stayed at Hotel Retama Machupicchu during my visit to Machu Picchu. The staff was friendly and super helpful, and the location made it convenient for getting around Aguas Calientes and heading to Machu Picchu early in the morning. The room was clean overall, and I appreciated having a quiet place to rest after a long travel day.
There were a few downsides. The hotel is also up a hill and does not have an elevator, which could be difficult with luggage.
Breakfast was simple but enough to get started for the day. They made me an omelet to order that was delicious.
Overall, it’s a decent option if you want an affordable stay close to Machu Picchu and are mainly looking for a place to sleep and recharge before the trip.
