This is unique lodging, where the famous painter Lucas Cranach, lived and had his workshop in the time of Martin Luther. Despite its age (and charm), the beverage has all the desirable modern amenities. As I said the Tobias, the friendly, efficient and helpful person at reception, our only regret is not staying longer.

The history of the property is amazing. The double room, with bathroom, was simple but perfect for our needs; clean, comfortable and quiet. The location is perfect for exploring Lutherstadt; so much to see and take in. Many of the buildings have plaques that indicate who lived there and the dates. We recommend the onsite restaurant not only for starting your immersion into the history of the area, but also for the delicious food. We wish we had more time to spend here! The breakfast included with the room is excellent. This is a unique accommodation that shouldn't be missed :-)

We had a very interesting stay at Cranach Hermitage. We loved its historical significance and how it has been so beautifully restored. Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked so we booked the hostel, which was clean but spartan by comparison. Note also that bathroom facilities are shared. To be fair the rates were very reasonable. Reception service at checkin and checkout was top class. Breakfast was exceptional, high quality and classy.

Lovely friendly staff and fabulous breakfast. Spacious room with nice courtyard view. No air con or fan so room really quite hot at night - windows open meant heard a group of older folk sitting outside and talking loudly around 11.30pm (for quite some time!). Personal choice - would have liked a fridge and TV: appreciate the heritage but if there’s USB sockets, a few more modern amenities could be possible …Hotel in good location - easy walk to sites. Parking behind hotel OK - 5 Euro daily rate. Not sure what hotel VIP access benefits were …

I liked the location and the affordability of Cranach Herberge. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was air-conditioned, which mattered last summer. I did not like carrying luggage up a winding staircase of three floors. The main drawback is that every time someone opened and closed a door on our floor, we could hear it in our room. The doors have medieval-looking locks and hardware and are very noisy. I was looking for an eccentric old-style European hotel and I found it. This is a good establishment and I figure it was a fair deal.

Wunderbar ruhige Unterkunft , schlicht, in einem historischen Haus mit schönem innenhof. Das Frühstücks Buffet lecker, für jeden was dabei. Viel selbst gemachtes. Kein Fernseher im großen Zimmer. Haben wir nicht vermisst. Sympathischer Service. Parkplatz für 5 Euro am Tag um die Ecke. Leicht erreichbar...wir haben uns wohl gefühlt, da außergewöhnlich....

I habe die Zeit beim Cranach Herberge sehr genossen. Alles war sauber. Frühstück Bereich war sehr unangenehm und ein paar Leute haben meinen Platz von mir weggenommen. Alle waren für sich selbst und ich musste am Gastbuch Tisch essen. Trotzdem war alles im Hotel super.

몇백년 된 건물을 그대로 호텔로 사용하고 있습니다. 중세 건물에서 투숙하는 재미가 있는 곳입니다. 시내 중심가에 있습니다. 루터가 95개조 반박문을 붙인 곳, 루터의 집이 도보로 6~7분 거리에 있습니다. 도시 중심가에 위치하고 있고 호텔이 있는 곳이 바로 관광지 중심지였습니다. 쇼핑타운도 가깝습니다. 중세 건물이다 보니 등이 어두운 것은 있습니다. 다만 운치가 있며 호텔 자체가 박물관에 있는 듯 한 느낌이었습니다. 직원은 너무 친절했습니다. 3층에는 공용 주방공간이 있어서 간단한 요리도 해서 먹을 수 있습니다. 다만 엘리베이트가 없어서 무거운 케리어를 끌고 올라가는 수고로움이 있습니다. 직원이 이 부분도 미리 이야기해 주면서 건물이 수백년 된 건물이라 엘리베이트가 없음에 유감이라고 사과의 말까지 해 주는 친절함에 감동을 했습니다.

Urige, gemütliche Wohnung, sehr nettes Personal, leckeres Frühstück, viele interessante alte Gebäude und Museen (und Geschäfte) fußläufig zu erreichen... Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen, obwohl wir wegen eines Abflussproblems in der blauen Wohnung zwischendurch in eine andere im anderen Haus umziehen mussten, was aber dank des sehr hilfsbereiten Personals schnell erledigt war. Sobald die blaue Wohnung renoviert ist, ist sie als absolutes Schätzchen hoffentlich noch so empfehlenswert wie wir sie als Letzte genießen konnten! :-)
