Lovely 4 poster bed room.

Hotel was lovely the room was beautiful with 4 poster bed. The only thing I would say is that you donā€™t get to use the pool or spa and when I booked it. It didnā€™t say you had to pay extra on the booking at the time so that was abit disappointing. Apart from that location is great. We walked into Darlington for dinner.

Overall comfortable

Comfortable bed, room needs a bit of a tidy up. Paintwork chipped here & there, window in bathroom totally broken. Service rather slow.

NO SPA

This hotel does NOT have a spa. Hotel.com is deliberately misleading on this point. The spa is a 15-20min walk or 5-10min drive. Hotels.com is aware but still haven't changed the info. you are made aware of this on the hotels own website but that's not useful when booking through hotels.com. Other than that a perfectly nice hotel.

Really like staying here, always feels warm and friendly, staff are lovely, bath is always hot, showers are powerful, food is lovely and well priced. I stay in Darlington quite often and wouldnt dream of going anywhere else

Tired room & expensive room rate

Hotel was cold on arrival & our bedroom was extremely cold also. I was able to turn the radiator on, something I think could have been done prior to our arrival. The room was clean but sadly very tired, smelt old & had cracks in bathroom floor and a wardrobe that was really small that wouldnā€™t fit our clothes in, due to the iron & ironing board, iron, extra pillows and blankets stored inside. After a 3 hour journey- arriving at 830am no mention of any restaurant availability & a rushed checkin Wake-up call was asked for, but that never happened. In the morning we also had 3 ladybirds in the room crawling on the ceiling, . the hotel could do with some refurbishment to bring it up to 2025!! As it is very dated and an expensive room rate.
