I had a single room which was small but functional. The location of this hotel is excellent being near the Gloucester Road tube and also buses. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating and the building was decent enough. Would certainly stay again, but maybe in a double room.

The room was very small and the windows sat very high, wich made the room not cosy at all. The bathroom needed good cleaning. The showerhead was calcified and so was the ligth in the shower, so it was so dark in the shower

Staff were helpful and polite, hotel was ideally located near tube station and just round the corner from some major attractions. They also let us leave our bags for a good few hours while we walked around London before our train in the evening.

The room we had was very small but we only stayed for 1 night so that was fine. The room was very clean and the shower over the bath was excellent. Plenty of tea and coffee available. The bar was great and full of character. We didn’t stay for breakfast as i thought £25 per head was a bit expensive, however lots of guest did. The hotel was only 20 min walk from the Royal Albert hall. And a very short walk to the tube station, so all in all, it got the thumbs up for our short stay:)

I don't know if they have only one housekeeper but my room was not ready for my check-in and I had to wait until almost 4:30 (check-in was supposed to be 3). At first, I figured they were busy but that clearly was not the case after hanging around waiting. This was on a Monday by the way. Also, they really need to update their phones in the room, the cords don't even reach a manageable distance, literally about 12-16 inches. My trash bin in the bathroom also did not open. The lid was broken and you can seriously just replace one for $5-10. I understand vintage but everything in my room was not very well-maintained.

Not really a 4 star bedroom. Small, Very small hanging space for clothes, you have to be an Olympic pole vaulter to have a shower - anyone over the age of 60 has no chance of climbing over the bath side and through the small gap staff very good And attentive

A real Gem in the heart of London

The Gem Strathmore is perfectly located for exploring the museums and Hyde Park area of London. An easy block walk off the Gloucester Road Tube and an easy walk to South Kensington. The hotel is really nice. Comfortable and clean with an excellent bar to unwind in after a long day of sight seeing. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this hotel.

Pleasantly surprised old manor home was a nice hotel accommodation. Quiet neighborhood convenient for transit meals and food items. Staff were visible and friendly. Room and bath cleaned daily with fresh towels. Shower was a small but newly remodeled. Would definitely recommend to others.
