A renovated old farmhouse offering charm and relaxation in the heart of nature on the Jura Plateau

Overlooking the magnificent Loue and Lison valleys, La Vieille Maison invites you to enjoy peace and quiet and go hiking.

Located on the first plateau of the Jura Mountains, this fully renovated and tastefully decorated cottage offers a spacious, comfortable, and bright interior opening onto a large private, enclosed orchard and terrace.

“La Vigne Sauvage” was the living quarters of the old Franche-Comté farmhouse. This is where hardworking farmers once lived with their large families. The stone walls stand as a testament to that time. This large farmhouse has been restored with great care and attention to detail. The result is two magnificent, independent holiday rentals with authentic charm. With a floor area of 110 m², “La Vigne Sauvage” can accommodate up to 6 people thanks to its two comfortably furnished bedrooms and ample sleeping arrangements.

Whether by the fireplace or under the trees, embrace the peaceful rhythm of the countryside or give in to nature’s call and set out on foot from the house to explore the surrounding woods, rivers, and scenic viewpoints…

Looking for a cultural getaway? Discover the magnificent Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans, Vauban’s citadel in Besançon, the Château de Joux, or the Courbet Museum in Ornans—to name just a few of the most famous sites. Let’s not forget that the Loue Valley remains a paradise for avid fly fishermen…
In our beautiful valley, sports aren’t left out—from skiing to swimming, via via ferrata routes and other energising adventures, there’s something for everyone.

So don’t hesitate any longer—come recharge at La Vieille Maison!

We absolutely loved our stay at the gite. It was so comfortable, well-equipped, with very thoughtful touches. I cannot recommend it highly enough. And even more, the village of Lizine is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited in France. So calm, quiet, peaceful. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Wonderful house with beautiful location

House is very clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the enclosed garden so our small dog could run loose. Lizine is a cozy village and still has the rural feeling with small farms. The area is beautiful and communication with the kind hosts very good.
