The rental was very dirty. There was thick mold throughout both bathrooms and the carpets were all stained. From the outside, it looked more like student housing than a nice rental. I immediately left the rental without ever taking possession of the keys. I immediately called VRBO who said they would look into it. I didn’t receive a call back until 1030 pm local time. I was basically left on my own with a family of four in a foreign country having to find somewhere to sleep that night.

This was actually very sad and disappointing. The lay out and space and location was perfect for us but the apartment, itself, was filthy. The showers were full of mildew. Not the mildew from age that could be hard wash away, it literally flaked off when the water hit it.The carpet/floors were obviously never vacuumed/cleaned. The utensils in drawers were dirty, I had to wash them before using. The plates in cabinet were wet and smelled musty. The garbage can lid in kitchen was filthy with old liquid and food that you had to touch to open. The walls around the garbage can had splashed food and liquid from things being thrown into garbage can. I never took my shoes off. I literally had them outside of shower and immediately stepped into them to avoid touching the floor ( although the shower was no better). There were no hand towels in bathrooms to dry washed hands. No kitchen towel ( linen or paper). Dirty socks left in closet. The door lock got jammed somehow and we were not able to get OUT of apartment and messaged host with video and never heard back from them. Thankfully we were on 1st floor and my son jumped out window and opened door with key from outside. We were asked to bring garbage outside to bins on compound. Every bin on compound was full or overflowing. Also ground outside was full of potholes and loose gravel, puddles and mud.
